This message is hidden because mi benz is on your ignore list.
Per request of Nola.
240D is correct as usual. No states require cetane labels. Virgina is the only one that comes to mind. Quick google of "virgina weights & measures" lead me to this page:

I guess because is his job (240D's), he is a diesel mechanic - he is against additives (if your fuel system is not broken you don't go to service).
But he should look at the facts and accept them. I don’t know where he works like diesel tech, but I definitely will try to stay away from that place.
Just my 2 cents.

Ah so that means drivers, who have no training or experience fixing engines, know better than ASE certified mechanics. Sure, makes perfect sense.
Where was he asking you to pay him to fix your vehicle? Oh yeah, this is a forum where people help you for FREE.
Yes, the facts they do nothing beneficial.
Instead of violating TOU rules with ad hoc attacks, how about informing everyone what do YOU do for a living so we can assess your credibility based on your occupation too.

Not now, but when breaks down because of his good advice! Good think I am far away fron him!!! By the way I see him offering lots of things for sell on different forums!!! I guess he is asking for money if not me, to someone else....
For you...., except making your clients thinking if they should listen to your b******t.
I don’t violate any forum rules, I don’t change people’s quotes, I just posts facts as I find them, and if I cannot prove something, I will accept the facts and I will admit my mistake (read above). And trust me, I know how to use World Wide Web, plus I speak couple languages which gives me better data base, compare to yours, if you know how to search for info….. at all. You may want to look at this....
http://www.epa.gov/oms/regs/fuels/additive/web-dies.htm
As you can see, this info is relativle new...
And only one thing:
I don’t poop where I make mine living, because I know that I don't know everything!!! Nail this in your W**D Head and don't argue against the facts.
No more Comments On his Stu...... no matter of his name. Discusion clossed for me.
Thanks everyone suppling facts to prove that we are right. and happy .

I'd love to know where he works so his employers knew what sort of crap he spews (and so locals could avoid taking their car there).

Not entirely true.My "d"...a 3 Series....has 425 ft lbs of torque that can most certainly pin you back in your seat.I'm likely to lose that soon if my plan to buy an E350 Bluetec comes to pass but it's OK...I'll gladly trade the extra torque for the added luxury, room and Distronic.

The bluetec actually has between 388-400 Ft/lbs stock (numbers vary depending on which source you look at, even within Mercedes' sites). With a KD-Box, that'll bump it up another 30-50. I'd still prefer to have a 335d coupe though.. but they don't sell those here.

Actually I would prefer it because of the added power, which is thanks to two turbos, in a sporty, smaller car that actually gets better gas mileage. Do you really want to revive the v6 vs I6 argument? Bored since 240 left?

The S class Bluetec puts out more horsepower and torque than the 335d. It is just a different ECU tune. Shows how much reserves are actually available in the MB V6 diesel. I wish I could get the S Class tune done in my E350 Bluetec.

I will keep the car on the picture out of this, because is simply a bad **$, but has a good match w/745d. V8 against V8, 4.0 against 4.4, twin turbos. The sad part is that they both are history.

I thought the diesel moved the 2 1/2 tons with more authority.
Later, after I got it home, I had second thoughts, probably the 1st & 2nd gear performance where the 7spd doesn't match the torque band.
I just came back from a 2800 mile trip and am really pleased (now have 6,000 miles). I got 29.6 mpg for the trip overall with 6 days on highways and 5 days puttering around in town. I was definitely NOT driving for economy - I was giving it a break-in workout. It was responsive in passing (shooting to 100 mph easily) and squirting into little gaps in traffic with appropriate & quick downshifts.
The coarseness off the line has decreased, and the 7spd seems to shift into second sooner and use the torque better. I am looking forward to 10,000 miles and more break-in.
Me - the I-6 devotee - I think I'm converted.
