Wow, 4.2 l/100 km. You must have had a tail wind , driven down from the highlands & had your tyres pumped to 100psi!!
Well done. The best I have achieved is 4.7l/100km.
Once I am on the freeway & doing 115km/hr the consumption is about 5.3 to 5.5.
Please let me know your secret?

easy driving, nothing extreme and a bit of a downhill run for the first 30km. This pic was after the first bit when I first noticed the fuel consumption, I wasn't trying to get it this low, I was just scrolling through the menu and was shocked.

Mine is 0M646 ,a 2008 model.

Yes, the OM651 is the new variant of the OM646. This was a very big design change from the OM646, very heavily bias towards reduced consumption. same HP and torque as your engine but now has twin turbo's to hel reduce turbo lag. There is a higher performance variant in the W212 (We didn't get it in any other model in Australia) that has 150kw and 500NM.

Too bad it doesn't. The modulated 2-stage turbo design was used because its cheaper to manufacture than a single VNT turbo.
And when you have to add $5000 worth of junk in the exhaust to make the engine look clean out the tailpipe, every dollar spent on the engine counts that much more.
