That's impressive... my W124 had 344k on it before I retired it - but that took me 15 years.

Appears to be as clean as the 2005 CDI I just purchased recently which now has only 114K miles.

This sellers reserve is too high IMHO.
I paid $17.6K for my original one owner car in nearby Escondido with 109,700 miles last December.
And this sellers car has over three times that mileage.

Good luck to the seller!

Question Why Not

Why would you not be able to?

You haven't had any real problems yet have you?

I should clarify my statement. I actually have not had that many issues. The car has been great. I do believe however that at some point the aggravation factor of constant repairs or excessive needed maintenance costs will rear it's head. There is a difference for me between doing scheduled maintenance and the aggravation of things just wearing out and breaking. I have kept several gas cars/trucks into the 200,000 range and they all reach a point were you weigh the $, time spent getting things fixed against money better spent on something newer that you do not worry about. Everyone has their own personal threshold and I am hoping mine will be at the 350,000 mile mark like it was for the seller in the ebay ad. I am amazed and very pleased at how well mine is running and driving at it's mileage.

This is very true. My personal threshold is not really how often it might need repairs but what the sum of those repairs cost for a given year. I basically figure what is the car note I'd be willing to pay every month for a new car to replace the one I am driving. Once I figure that number out if I reach 12 payments worth of it within one year then I part ways with the car. I do not factor in maintenance costs within that number though, strictly is for repairs. It usually is past 200k miles where the expensive stuff starts happening for me. Typically by 300k I am parting ways.

Only went as high as $9,550. Reserve was $14k. Too high of a reserve in my humble opinion.

Sure is lots of miles. Heck, my odometer doesn't have that's many miles. Then again, its broken!. However, I know a man who has 690,Xxx on a '84 SD. Still looks gorgeous. I would love to hit a million miles on my car.

With so many miles and an accident on the report, he will never find someone who will pay nearly $14K for it.

I paid $17.8K for my one owner 2005 CDI with 109,700 miles serviced regularly at the local dealer,
which does not mean much account that dealer does not know what they are doing.

Issues with mine:

'Black death' for the number two injector.
Why did the dealer not catch that when the car was serviced at 103K miles?

A failed themostat, stuck in the wide-open position.
Any fool could spot that on a test-drive, so why didn't the dealer note that problem?

Small aux. (the front) battery was the original and had failed.
Again, why didn't the dealer discover that problem?

When I went there to try and find out what had been and what had not been done to the car,
I was told that it needed and it was time for new spark plugs!
This just after showing the stupid service writer where I had replaced the bad diesel fuel injector
and anyone could still smell the raw D2 that had been sprayed all over the engine compartment.

Now you can understand why I have such a low opinion of Escondido MBZ?

Maybe some fool will come along and give that Ebay person $14K for his high mileage
2006 CDI, but I doubt he will sell it if he tries and maintains his reserve.
He did not have any luck his first try, so what makes him think he will this time?
