No More ESP 5w40

But really the MB 229.52, 0w30 ESP X1 is THE latest "go to" product. . Right now there is VERY little chatter as to comparisons of the three. So, even as it is logical to expect better mpg with "lower viscosities", ala, 0w30, 5w30, 5w40, and better performance parameters, the jury is still out.
But then on the other hand, I am getting 49.9 mpg to 35 mpg. with factory filled 5w40 (12,100 miles) and dealer oil and filter change with M1 ESP M 5w40 MB spa 229.51 oils. What that will be switching to M1 ESP X1 0w30 remains to be seen.

P.S. I am not anti-Amsoil, just anti the religion of Amsoil.

I see MB only references 229.51 so I guess w30 oils are acceptable.
Diesels don't run that hot, so there is probably little difference in actual use.
Samaritrey - my Mom has a 52 MG kit car on a VW bug chassis when I was in High School, mid-eighties. It had an engine fire, we got a new motor and had a guy re-wire it. 4 years later it caught on fire again...it was still cool.
Yeah I love the MG its a 1954 TF 1500 that my grandfather restored. Sadly It is leaking fuel onto the exhaust and I don't have the time to fix it. I hope to get that fixed and get the headlight switch replaced this summer so i can have some fun.
No problems in Australian heat.
