Hi

Got that code, its sort off on and off ( but more present then abscent ) and, sounds like a lot to fix ( turbo to take off and sort) it's a 2011 bluetec on a R class. Anyone have any input on fixing those manifold runner that are " stuck open "?

It's typically related to the swirl motor failing due to oil leaking on it from the turbo inlet seal. The motor sits under that seal and next to the fuel filter. The fix is to replace it which means removing the turbo to access it.

Thanks a lot for your answer !! I will check the motor for oil !!! Have you anu ideas what voltage that motor runs on ? I would take it out the car and plug it into an ajustable powersupply to chek it.

I think its a 12v motor. Do some research on swirl motor resistor fix. This same engine is in Jeep CRD and they have lots of repair information. You can install a resistor which tells the ECU that its working properly and no OBD codes will be posted. This is quick procedure as no disassembly is required. If you go to the trouble of removing the motor, check to make sure the linkage to the flaps moves freely. The problem can be jammed flaps in the intake. With the motor out but connected you can check operation with it plugged in and engine running to see if the motor actuates. It may move but not have the power to move the flaps as well. Replace the motor if you have it out, but I think it will fail again sometime in the future.

Solution

Maybe the solution is to install this handcraft piece, I saw it in a European forum. I already ordered it.

Regards.

You may want to consider Green Diesel Engineering ECO tune. It keeps the flaps open, keeps the EGR shut, and does what it needs to keep the codes satisfied. Higher Torque and HP also. Worked great for me and no ore concerns about future problems with EGR and Swirl Flaps.
