You guys on the West coast pay some high prices. Here in Virginia, the diesel I always purchase went up from $2.39 to $2.59 when hurricane Harvey hit in late August/early September. Since then it has gone up to $2.60, $2.63, and now $2.65.

Diesel = fuel oil, pretty much the same stuff folks heat their homes with in the winter time.
Nobody remembers a few years ago when diesel hit $5/gallon (about $1 above premium)? Cost about $150 to fill my truck. That sucked.

A high of $4.05 during March 2012
Below $3.00 after January 2015
A low of $1.76 during February 2016
Prices continue to rise after May 2016 to where we are today.

I hear California lately raised fuel taxes.
Nevada uses CA refined fuels, yet I filled up yesterday at $2.73. Now in Bay Area $3.50 seems good price, but new car makes close to 800 miles on the tank, so I am not filling up here.
Still have copy a receipt when I filled up diesel for $1.99 just three months ago in NM
