Sorry, he'd included that in the email.
I guess Im more stupid than I thought, but I can't find any video on how to do it on OM642.
I see how to clean turbo but not ERG.

Again. I'm curious where Stephen taps in to introduce the cleaner.
for those that have a dirty throttle body, I would spray via the port designated with an orange arrow in the attached image. As you have to remove the sensor temporarily, this will throw codes so you'll have to clear them after you're done spraying Liqui Moly or BG245 or whatever else that may work.
I should add that this is an image of 2007 W211 OM642. Your setup may be different.

That looks like an excellent spot! That must be the access point Mr. Stephen is referring to. This places the nozzle at the point where the left and the right intake manifolds will get exposed to the cleaning solution.
My 2007 w211 Om642 does not have that sensor. Looking at my setup, best way is to remove the "muffler" which is located just above the throttle body and run the nozzle just before the 2 manifold openings.

Had some conversation with people who worked on Audi's a BMW diesels. Their opinion on using spray is hell NO.
All that buildup will go through the engine, it might made very big damage.
The right way is to take thar pipe and replace with new. Pipe is about $40.

They both dos't like an idea of sending all this buildup back through the engine. Especially it might damage valves.

They said, want it to be clean, take if off and clean or put new in.

I personally am not concerned about this "soft" sludge affecting metal interior parts. I'm more concerned with DPF so I'm thinking of perhaps temporarily disconnecting exhaust during Liqui Moly application.

@GoodByeHonda Could you send the part numbers for the gaskets that you'll need to manually clean this pipe? It'd be much appreciated, thanks.

Also, from what I'm understanding, it's just 3 bolts on the one side to remove the pipe from the engine?

The two gaskets that I'm showing above with a penny are for 2007 E320:

A 642 141 00 80
A 026 997 43 48

I had a tune downloaded which deactivated the EGR among other things. I had the DPF eliminated and the DEF deactivated. Hopefully I'll have relative dependability and no worries about EGR blockage etc,

i can’t locate the Liqui Moly Diesel Intake clearner (5168) anywhere in the US. Just reached out to Liqui Moly. Any idea where I can get a can?

EGR Bulletin...

Has any one done it? What's the ideal spot to tap in? Ideally I'd like to get rid of the EGR system as I see it as the main culprit of diesel engine problems but for now, I'll remove the egr admission pipe and clean it following with a spray of the cleaner.
Does the MB bulletin specific engines and years? I have a 2008 3.0 OM642 v-6 and occasionally receive check engine errors that reference EGR. However, I don’t have any typical bad EGR symptoms.

Contact Malone Tuning and ask them for a shop near you.

Green Diesel Engineering (GDE), was. They were out of Michigan I think.

I contacted Keith the year before the stuff hit the fan, but I didn't pull the trigger.
Malone is out of Vancouver BC area, still around I guess is a jurisdictional thing.

Just checked, Malone's site is still live. Regardless, Green Diesel had nothing for my truck

It is EPA in USA who is chasing the cheating. Sounds like Canada doesn't have similar agency, or just doesn't care.

I just removed this pipe on my 2009 E320 Bluetec. To confirm, yes, only 3 bolts on the throttle body side to loosen the whole pipe. It then has a compression fitting over the o-ring on the other side, no bolt. The parts numbers listed worked for my E-320. The o-ring on the inlet side of the pipe took me an hour fiddling with different picks to get off. Otherwise the job is pretty easy.
