OM642 NO START please help!!!
To start i own a jeep cherokee with the 3.0 diesel in it. The jeep developed a pretty decent oil leak. Found out the oil was coming from the oil cooler gaskets. The jeep also developed a hard start issue as the oil leak got worse. It got cold here and the hard starts got worse and ended up burning the starter. I changed the starter and did a leak test on the injectors. Ended up changing the injector and it ran fine for awhile. Hard start came back so I assumed it might have something to do with the oil leak... did my reasrch ordered the parts and dove into tearing it apart... (PAIN IM MY A**).. got the oil cooler gaskets changed and all put back together... turned the key and she fired after about the 2-3 time... ran 45 min no issue. Shut the engine off and it wouldn't start back up... let it sit put by battery charger on it and went home.. came back the next day tried to turn it over after about 3-4 cycles of the key it fired took it for a short drive.. it started bellowing smoke and cel came on limpped it back to my shop and scanned it and it was a turbo underboost code. Clear it cause right as I was pulling into the shop it started running good again. But now it was zero start just cranks.
I have checked all lines for leaks, made sure no air in the system.. i got it to start last night and it will idle but once you start to rev it the engine shutter like it's starving for fuel or something idk....
we have reprogrammed the injectors and changed fuel filter and crank sensor... i dont wanna just keep throwing parts at it so if someone could help point me in the right direction of what to test or anything i would greatly appreciate it!!

Time to do some testing
-injector leak test
-fuel pressure regulator
-HP fuel pump.
We still don't know the mileage, but HP fuel pumps don't last forever, nor do injectors.

My engines fire on 1st turn, so I can't clearly see what is cranking rail pressure, but at Idle I am having min 4800 psi. Will double check tomorrow, but taking differences in engines tune, you might want to get data from fellow Jeep owner with the same setup.
Okay, you dove in deep with it, and lived to tell the tale - at least part of it. Let's see:
- Oil cooler seal job, that's the big one
- Injector(s?) - how many, I can't tell. reprogramming means I think putting new numbers in, so I trust you have a scanner/computer which can talk to your Jeep.
And, you were successful.
Then, not.
Ignoring the under boost code for a moment.
This sounds like injector spill line o rings not sealing and letting air in (at rest). Or somewhere else in fuel supply letting air in.
Make sure battery has good charge, and do key on and listen for lift pump on. Leave key on for 30 seconds before starting.
And check all the lines again.
