Help with P201611 code OM651 - Dealer is stumped

Wondering if anybody has experienced this before. My car is a 2014 GLK250 with 162K miles. The dealer said the code pointed to the 651-150-00-94 Setting Motor. The dealer replaced that, and then shortly thereafter the same code came back. Now they want to open a ticket with Mercedes and charge me 5 hours labor or more to diagnose the problem. They have no idea what the problem is. They are saying wiring or ECU (not under the AEM warranty), but I think it's the intake manifold itself (under warranty).

Anybody with expertise in this area, please chime in.

Do not know but it seems to me they just replaced the motor, generally when you have issues with throttle valve replacing the whole thing is the way to go or atleast a starting point.

Hopefully they figure it out and it's covered by the AEM warranty. I have scoured the web for info on this and seems like I am the only one to have this issue on an OM651.

Fault code is in the subject. And I was the one who pulled the fault code, so how do I know nothing about the vehicle? If you're not going to be helpful, please don't bother to post.

I don't understand what you are saying. The dealer replaced the part indicated by the code and the same code came right back.

First of all, I'm no expert and have no expertise with this specific code
but
if the dealer replaced the part the code refers to and the code still indicates a short to ground, I'd be looking closely at the wiring harness attached to that part to find out where the harness has been rubbed through (or eaten, if you have mice) and is shorted to ground.

For those few of you who are interested in this saga, the latest thing that MBUSA has directed the dealer to do is install a new intake manifold. I believe this will be done today or tomorrow. All this is covered by the AEM warranty. Stay tuned for more.

Update: Dealer installed new intake manifold and issue still not resolved. They are reaching back out to MBUSA for next steps.

Isn't new technology wonderful?
Just remember that AEM warranty gives you free troubleshooting, even when the part might not be covered.
Get national MB hotline involved. Dealer can call Stuttgart for consultation, so don't let them take you to the cleaners.

Has the dealer tech checked the wiring harness for shorts and open circuits yet?

Troubleshooting is only covered if the part is covered. The warranty only covers reading the codes if the part is not covered.

I don't have all the details about what they did yet.

I do have another update as of today though. They said they noticed they had a "hose" they had not completely tightened which resolved the issue. They are going to do some extended test drives to make sure the CEL does not come back on but the initial results are promising. So far it looks like it will all be covered under the warranty.
