W166 ML250 Codes Fuel P0090, 0091, 0251,0253 no start
My ML250 turns over but does not start and has 4 codes. Reader says P0091Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 control circuit low, P0253 Injection Pump A rotor / camshaft position sensor, P0251 Injection PumpA / Camshaft position sensor malfunction, P0090 Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit.
All fuses are good, towing it home now. Hoping its the fuel pump. Planning to change the fuel filter too.
Do all these codes point to the fuel pump or pressure controller?

Moved my ML250 home using a uhaul trailer. Let the fun begin. Looks like you have to drop the tank to get to the pumps. Are there 2 pumps in the tanks? Is there a way to test the pumps without dropping the tank? Should you be able to hear the pumps run? Planning to pull the filter and see if there is flow at the filter.

Pulled the bleed cap off the fuel filter and pumping fine (filled up 1/2 of 32 oz bottle in 10 seconds)....so assuming the fuel pumps work.

for all the diagnostics find a friend with XDOS and run a short test which will list all faults and indicate all the appropriate test to solve problem----all else its the finger in the wind approach ie listen for noise, check all fuses and or ask girlfriend what she thinks problem[/QUOTE]

I think the fuel pumps in these cars are robust, but camshaft position sensor can cause no start condition. Oversimplified, but just some thoughts.

Is there a way to check the camshaft position sensor function? Inexpensive part....not sure what it takes to change it out.

Is this typical of the camshaft position sensor as an intermittent issue?

So MB scanned the car and it needs a battery...all the codes were related to the original battery in the car losing its power. Battery was original from 2015....MB sourced batteries last quite a long time. Replacement MB battery was $315. Case closed.
