Price for 20" rims
I went down to a place in Costa Mesa, CA called grand prix. The guy quoted me $1150/wheel and $300/tire. We're not talking Lorinser or AMG, some 5 spoke wheel that was brushed aluminum called mint.
Seriously? $6k for regular 20's?
On a side note, does anyone have 20's on theirs with rubbing issues? Is lowering a must? How's the ride after lowering? What spring did you use? etc,
Thanks

i didnt pay nearly that for my TSW 20s. no rubbing issues at all, even after lowering. running eibach springs. check out this other thread for pics. btw, ride is better than i thot it would be. not bumpy and very comparable to stock since my 18s are on AS and hard as a rock and these are max perf summer tires

Looks real nice. I think I'm gonna go for a 5 spoke design. I still haven't decided on black or brushed aluminum. Did you have a alignment done after lowering it?

on a side note, picked up my car from dealer, had them install the rear spoiler on the trunk. They screwed up to say the least. It doesn't take a genious to figure out what he did wrong. Theres adhesive left over so my guess is he placed the spoiler on the wrong spot, then took it off, and reapplied it. Well the idiot didn't even take the time to buff out the adhesive from the first attempt. I went down to the dealer today to show the service guy and told him in polite terms that you have to really be a moron to leave a mistake that big from your screw up.
He agreed and I told him to make sure the guy who worked on the car has a talking too. Paying $65k for a new car and this happening to it is unacceptable.

No, Fletcher Jones screwed mine up. It was terrible. I still can't believe you could miss something that big. I just picked up the car and they had it polished off. I get into the car and chrome door handle on the inside is covered in some kind of glue. I politely asked the service dept to please remove the glue from the handle. They are not impressing me at all.
On a side note, I had the windows tinted. I've been going to this place for 20+ years and had my E500 tinted there in 03'. They do a very good job at a reasonable rate, $195 for non-metallic film. Non-metallic is a must unless you want to lose the reception on your AM radio.
Here are the photos of the new tint and spoiler. I'm really stuck on a wheel selection. I definitely want 20" 5 spoke wheels that are most likely brushed aluminum. But I don't want to lower the car. I'm hoping if I go with a higher profile tire, maybe a 40 series instead of a 35, that it will fill the gap. But then I run into potential rubbing issues.

nice. i have ceramic tint on mine.
you do 35/30s f/r. check out 1010tires.com and you can use their tire calculator. i hated the gap, so lowering the car feels and looks right to me. if you want to see the car in person, let me know since you are in so cal.

Shoot us a pm- we have a few top quality, FORGED, 1pc or multipiece 5 spoke wheels that we can offer. We can do much better than $6k, and they won't be some in-house generic brand

btw, the offset is staggered, but i cant remember what they were. check the tsw website and they should have the numbers.
ride is great! if you are going to lower it, 275/30s wont work. if you dont lower it, you can got up to 285/30 on the rears with no rub. but your rolling diameters will be off.
i want to see if 295/25 will fit with my next set as the rim can definitely handle a bigger tire.

Edit: I think the staggered is 8 in front and 9.5 in back. kinda curious to see if i can have 10 in the back tho

If youre interested these are the wheels im gonna go with. I was joking about the 21s. I was gonna go 19s because everyone is telling me how bad the rides gonna be if i do 20s and lower it. But that seems to be the consensus among the older generation.
