TPMS with new rims

Hello guys, I just bought new rims for my E350 coupe and I have not installed them yet but I was thinking of not installing them with TPMS. Will I get errors every time i drive the car with this and will I have any issues ?

The only issue you will have is the error that comes on everytime you start your car. You can choose to ignore it, but I don't see any issues with not using them. Any reason why you aren't willng to pay the 100 and change for the 4 tpms? You can even reuse your old ones from your OEM wheels.

You don't plug TMPS into your cigarette lighter. These are designed to be installed with the rim and tires. Tirerack has them for 224 for all 4. They used to be 50 bucks a piece last year. Guess everything is going up in price.

Jeff I agree with you I know this but the displays get plugged into the cigarette lighter from what I see that show you the pressure of the tires. Also I am on the tirerack website an I dont see this that you guys are talking about, can you link me ?

That doesn't make any sense Kef. The display for your TPMS is in your dash. You have to scroll to see it or if it's not there, it'll pop up and warn you. I think you're referring to an aftermarket TPMS system. You don't need the whole system as the car comes equipped with the system. You just need new sensors for the wheels. The car should sync up with the new sensors after a few miles.

Jeff, I was under the understanding that you were telling me to purchase a whole new tpms aftermarket system since this was not stated on the TPMS section of tire rack but I see what you mean. I do stand corrected on this. BTW these are the rims I bought 19"
and Pirelli P-Zero Nero All weather tires

It took me a while to figure out what you were talking about regarding the cigarette lighter also. All you need is the sensors. I think the confusion was with the term TPMS. You might have thought TPMS meant Tire Pressure Monitor System, while everyone else used it as tire pressure monitor Sensors. Glad the confusion was settled.
