Hello guys,

No the installation of an X pipe should not void your warranty. However, if you would have an issue which requires repair and the dealer can prove that the issue was a direct result of the installation of the X pipe then yes, they can deny covering that repair under warranty. There is something called the Magnuson-moss warranty act that protects consumers against warranty denials. Say you have a front suspension issue which requires an expensive replacement of suspension components then, the dealer would be required to cover it under warranty because there is no way it could have been caused by the X pipe. Kind of a rediculous example but you get the idea. You can Google Magnuson-moss warranty act and read it for yourself.

I spoke to my dealer and hell yes it will void your warranty. If your car ever has an issue for ex. engine problem and they say it was because you modified your pipes...you will be screwed. I would only recommend anything bolt on like a cat back or axle back exhaust. That way you can install your stock parts before taking your car to to dealer.

I have straight pipes, and got in writing from my dealer that the straight pipe in no way affects the warranty. If you think about it, it's a piece of pipe, air passes through it, there's nothing that could possibly go wrong.
You can have the resonator welded back in under an hour if you felt like it.
