E550 Springs, Want'em?

Spoke to a gentleman from Eibach today regarding springs for our E550's. He confirmed, as I had earlier posted, there were no plans to design/make springs for our cars. Looks like the best way to possibly make this happen is to let Eibach know there is a group of people interested in purchasing these, if and when they should become available. What was suggested was for any individual contemplating the change to their springs send them a short note siting such. There is a section on their web page refering to donor cars being requested, in here is a place for information and a place for comments. These comments go to several different individuals in different departments. So this would be the place to let your request known as they do read these and in any number would have some weight with any planning they might consider. Give it a shot, it'll only take 5 min. to let them know.

Why not use H&R? They have springs for the 2010+ E550 Coupe...

Actually spoke to H&R as well. They indicated to me they did not have an offering to fit. Did call twice to verify. Basically the same response as Eibach. Maybe I'm getting the run-around but I fail to see why they might do that to a potiental customer.

checked their site and they show the same part number for the 350 and 550. In addition to the weight difference of the engines, aren't the handling packages of the 350 and 550 different?

Underlying issue here, I think, is the fact neither manu. has tried their springs in the new car with new engine weight and possible suspension differences. And as makes sense, aren't going to commit to saying the springs will work or not till they actually know. All I'm saying is we might be able to encourage them to give us a product that has been tested and performs as required in a timely manner. As to the catalog listing I'm sure the 2010+ was listed long before the changes to the new car were generally known. I agree the 350 springs will "probably" work but untill I can get someone from the manu. to tell me straight up that all is well. I'm not going to spend the money or take the time to do something that may or may not be a good solution based on "this should be OK" from someone who really doesn't know.
