Is adding "AMG" badge to trunk, posing??

HAHA! I saw a C250 today in Toronto with an AMG badge, with stock rims, stock body, and stock exhaust. But wait..it was worse. He even added a V8 badge on the sides.

personally i feel its an insult to AMG to do that, one man one engine. these people should be happy enough they own mercs and not honda crapboxes. but this is a freemarket economy and whatevers clever just be warned when a real AMG spots you... paperbag over your head and hope your girl doesnt ask why you didnt try to race that other AMG.

heck me and adam(nladam12) were crusing through queens a few nights back when we saw an S55......S430 and we were at a stoplight.. when it went green our point was made!

I just got my e coupe last month, and it came when the amg badge already on it. I spoke to my salesman and he said if you get the amg sport package they already add the amg badge. But I want to remove it since I am planning on getting a few things from Vath such as exhaust and ECU and some exterior add ons (diffuser & trunk lip)
Your salesman lied to you. My wife has a 13 E350 Coupe with the AMG package and the only AMG badging on her car is on the AMG wheels. Did you buy the car used? Maybe the previous owner was a "poseur".

I bought the car brand new. Worst thing a dealership could do I think lol but yes I did remove the badge. I know this is off topic but since your from Toronto do you know any good tint places?

+1 on salesman lying to you. All AMG badging on non-AMG cars new cars are done at the dealership...pretty slimy move.

A bit different than the guy on the BMW E60 forum looking for someone to sell him a Dinan badge for his car - with no intention of spending the $$ at Dinan to earn the points/badge. He found one on EBay. Idiot probably then found an "M" badge on Ebay and stuck that on too...

AMG styling package is fine WITHOUT the AMG badge on the trunk. If the engine isn't signed by an AMG builder then it shouldn't have the AMG badging...pretty black and white rationale.

Posing is trying to make people believe you are, or have, something your aren't or don't. Putting an AMG badge is trying to make people believe you have an AMG-built car when you don't.

On the way home today, I saw a very late model (2010+) S550 with the "AMG" Badge on the right side of the trunk. As it is not an S63/65, it's not an AMG vehicle but had the appearance or sport package (whatever they call it) with the AMG wheels. I did like how it looked.
Obviously, the AMG badge would be expected on a E63 sedan or similar. However, is putting an AMG badge on a E350/550 or similar with appearance package and AMG wheels, posing??
