DRL hockey stick LEDs won't turn on

i just bought a 2010 e350 coupe and have been having some trouble trying to get the hockey stick LEDs to turn on.

the only way i've been able to get them to turn on is by switching the lights dial to "lowbeams" and then back to any other setting. by doing this, the LEDs come on for a second and turn off again. i cannot get them running in any other setting. i looked in the manual and i seem to be doing everything correctly.

can anyone provide some insight?

You need to do the DRL setting fron the onboard computer.

Toggle the setting from the steering wheel

I have been having the same issue but finally solved.

The DRLs are made to work during day time and cant be working together with headlight. The only way to do that is to go to the dealership and ask for upgrade for the lighting system.

this is the procedure i am using to do this:

the only options available are Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Locator Lighting, and Interior Lighting Delay

this is with the engine off. although the options dont change with the engine on anyway.

I had the same problem, I had the dealer install new software, now they come on during the day, and even at night with the headlights on at the same time. They can fix it for you at no charge.

Thanks for the help. I'm going in this week for a sticky door handle and interior protection so I'll have them do this too.
