Hello - here are some photo's of my new E 550 Cab. The interior is a bit unusual - I ordered the Designo option with red and black. Note the substitution of red leather in place of the usual wood trim. I like it a lot. Color of car is Palladium Silver. It took about 13 weeks from order to delivery.

I selected black for the top - I have had other colors on convertibles before and they seem to get dirty/look shabby quickly.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. By the way I used the Conquest cash offer plus a $500 coupon I got at the Washington DC auto show and paid $73299 against a total MSRP (including transportation costs) of $80659. Not bad for a special order car. The 15 week wait was hard on me though.

MSRP cost was $4750 total including a $250 special order fee. My sales guy had not ordered a designo package for a E but he did it with no problem. There is a link on the build your car page I think.

Thanks for the info. One dealer has been telling me the designo interior/exterior paint packages could not be ordered ala carte, while another just didn't know. Is the red as bright as in the pictures, because it sure looks a whole lot brighter than on the website. Also, and not that it matters to you anymore, but I haven't been able to include designo in any online build.

Designio options are only orderable at certian times of year because it delays production for 6 to 8 weeks. It is usually nor orderable early in the model year and late when the delay would run into the following MY cutoff. I have had multiple cars with designio options including my current designio mystic blue e350 sedan and have a 2012 e350 cab coming in with black with white inserts in the seats.

When you order a designio interior you have to order all the designio codes. For example you could not get a designio interior with black ash wood, you have to get either designio fiberflass or leather for trim and so on.

Duane - you are correct on all counts. I ordered mine at the end of January and it added 7 weeks to the delivery. Not sure precisely what the "window" is but the dealer should know the start and end dates for ordering. By the way you also get Designo floor mats! Those were a surprise since I did not order them or even know they were part of package. They are a nice touch.

Just for clarification ... my 'ala cart' reference meant 'only' Designo paint or 'only' Designo interior ... and not say the seats but not the dash trim piece.
