Pictures of the 2013 E-Class coupe
When can we expect to see the first real picture of the 2013 Mercedes E-Class. I'm taking delivery of a '13 E350 coupe on September 5th, (87 days from today) so surely at least a few prototypes have already been built. Rumors abound, but I haven't seen an actual picture anywhere.

It's actually worse than that. I ordered the car and don't know for sure the exact price since 2013 base pricing for the E-class hasn't come out yet. In addition, the MSRPs for the options are listed, but not guaranteed. It's always risky to make big decisions based on faith, but sometimes unavoidable. Thanks for the great link.

If you carefully read the link, you'll see that these 'facelifted' E's don't go on sale IN EUROPE until next spring (sedan), summer (wagon), and fall (AMG and 4MATIC). There is no/NO mention of the Coupes in this article. The MY '13 E's destined for the U.S. will not look like these artist renditions.

I have a 2013 E350 coupe 4M on order with a revised build date of June 25th. This car will be exactly like the 2012 except for some small updates on the software and graphics. There will most probably be a small price increase.

As the 2012 E350C4 was only 'launched' a few months ago, would you expect anything more than the appropriate alpha/numeric change to a character in the VIN?

I'm glad to hear no major design changes for '13. And if they do make some of the design changes we've tentatively seen for the '14 models, I'll be even more glad I have the 12-13 style.
Good luck with your order. The hardest part is the waiting. I think Albert Einstein said it best, "Time slows down as we approach the moment of delivery." Or something like that.

Don't sweat the price. I had to do the same thing, ordering a '12 in June '11 for August '11 delivery. All I had in writing was that I was getting -7% off MSRP, plus tax and tags, period. The dealer guesstimated that the price increase would be small and he was right, in fact he was a bit higher than the actual final MSRP. As Petee says, I doubt the increase will be significant.

besides 7% off were you able to get USAA pricing or conquest on your 2012 last year? I am in the same boat with a 2013 e350 coming next week. I'm afraid that MB will not give any rebates. They are essentially saying I have to pay 3k (no rebates) more for the same car as a 2012, but if I was a couple of months earlier and ordered a 2012 I would get the rebate. Sucks.

I hope you were able to at least negotiate a decent price for your '13. That's not always easy when getting one of the first cars of a new model year.
I had zero problems getting the so-called "Invoice Price" discount when I ordered, even though I got the first '12 through the port with black/red leather. But, that may have more to do with my long relationship with my dealer than anything else.

No, neither USAA nor Conquest. I was pretty much in the same boat as you are now. Had I earlier ordered or taken delivery of a 2011 in-inventory model, Conquest would have been available. But I knew about the significant power train upgrades, plus the first time availability of red leather in the U.S. for the ECoupe/Cab, so I paid up for the '12.

In my talks with two different dealerships, both have intimated that being a member of USAA would be very beneficial ... and my talks have been specific to a MY '13 acquisition. Regarding the conquest pricing ... it seems to me that this incentive comes and goes, with no apparent rhyme nor reason as to who offers it ... when it is offered ... or why it is offered. One dealer near me advertised it in a Customer Appreciation Event newsletter back in March and hasn't mentioned it again. BenzMan posted a thread from one of his area dealers back in the May/June timeframe advertising it. Looks to me to be something that the individual dealers can offer at their discretion.

To be honest, I'm not very familiar with how the USAA discount program works, not being a member. I guess they can only do according to what Mercedes does.
Yes, not all dealers - even Mercedes, it seems - are created equal when it comes to negotiating fair deals and receiving decent follow-up treatment. I learned that lesson early when I first began shopping Mercedes several years ago.
Good luck with your new car. Even if it's more costly than you'd like, I know it's an exciting time for you.
Please post pix if and when convenient. Yours could be the first or one of the first '13's to appear here.

Also seems to be optional with the dealer as to whether or not they will pass it along to the buyer. Some have said they've had dealers give them the Conquest deal, but then not take anything off the MSRP. That's contrary to my understanding that Conquest is supposed to be a bonus rebate on top of any negotiated deals.
Even with Mercedes, not all dealers are created equal, for sure.

Or looking at it another way, what's going to be the value of your 2013 E in a couple years vs the value of a 2012 you would have purchased instead. Probably worth much more than $3k over a 2012.
