E-Class coupe MBtex or Leather interior

A local salesman told me that the interiors of all the 2012 and 2013 E-Class coupes were real leather and not MBtex. Is that true or just car salesman forked tongue talk.

Leather is standard but there is a leather upgrade option which provides much softer leather. I went for this option since the regular leather seemed like it came from a really stiff cow.

You should compare the two at the dealership as they probably have cars with both types available.

Thank you. I think real leather smells better than vinyl. I saw the "Premium Leather" item listed among the options. How long have you had your car? I saw a forum post from one owner complaining that his premium leather seats stretched out over time and became wrinkled which disappointed him greatly. Have you been happy with yours?

yes, the softer the more likely to wrinkle. standard is the way to go.

I've had it for 6 months with daily use. No wrinkles at all, still as tight as the day it was delivered

To the OP, one more opinion:

No experience with the premium leather here, but -

I agree with some that these leather seats are a bit hard, but they are actually more compliant than my old CLK, which had very stiff seats, so that's an improvement for me.

In addition, I have the Multi-Contour front seats that you can get by ordering the Appearance Package option. After getting them adjusted to my liking, I find they do in fact improve the overall comfort of the seats and my back.

I myself don't come equipped with very much personal padding, so I can really feel it on long trips in a car with poor seats. This E350C has been more than adequate regarding comfort on the few trips I've taken thus far.

And that's really saying something, considering the sport suspension that is also part of the Appearance Package does not help the ride compliance one bit. Sure does help the car handle well though.

Just how I "feel" about it.

We have the contour seats with premium leather. 7 months and no wrinkle yet, I'm hoping a leather conditioner will minimize any chances of it. Only problem for me is the contour is too snug, jabs me in the back with the sides of the seat. But it's my wife's car...and she loves them.

I have a 2010 which has MBTex. I also have the 14 way adjustable seats with heat and ventilation. I find them to be a little too hard. I thinking it may have something to do with the adjustability, etc. that accounts for the hardness.
