Help me choose .. E350 4matic vs 535xi
In the market for a luxury car- after driving pretty much all sorts of cars it's down to choosing between 2012 E350 coupe 4 matic vs 535 xi
I know I'm not comparing apples to apples ( coupe v sedan).
But I really like the sporty looks of e350 coupe and it drives well too.
535 is a better driving experience - tighter steering wheel etc
Lease payments are almost identical
What do u guys think?

MBWorld Fanatic!
We are all driving MB's. What kind of answer do you expect? You are right compare the sedans and the superior car is.... the MB. If I thought the Bimmer was better, I would be driving one.

2012 E550 Coupe

I see this all the time on other boards as well. Makes no sense to me. A forum full of MB freaks, and someone asks about a BMW.

I'll go against the trend. I actually think the 535i trumps the E350 sedan. It looks better, has a much nicer interior and handles much better. Coupe however is a different story and these are two very different cars you are comparing.
If I was after something normal and luxurious to transfer around the board members and the family, I'd get the 5 everyday. If you want something that's sporty, get's some looks on the road get the E Coupe. That said, I think they are both about the same from a driving standpoint, I've found the F10 5 series to be very exciting to drive and that 3.0 N55 engine is a serious piece of engineering.

E350, but (as always) it depends on what you value/need in a car.
I disagree about the interior of the 5 being nicer. I also think the E350 is quieter and there is more attention to ride quality rather than marginal handling improvements.
If you need to shave a half-second off your track slalom run, then the 5 is probably a better choice. Other than that, I'd say the E350 is a superior car.
And yea, I've driven both.

Really? The new Mercedes interiors have been hugely dissapointing to me, if it wasn't for the way the E Coupe looks from the outside and the great 550 engine, I don't think I would have gotten past the interior. I guess it comes down to personal taste, but i personally find the MB interior to remind me of a Sprinter Van. Very plasticy and rugged.

I'm leaning towards it. Only issue is in canada, I'm not getting much of a deal. The payments is still over 1000 a month , based on 36 month lease (12000kms/yr)
