Great looking change! But details please for those of us who are going to be doing similar things to our cars. Rim and tire sizes so we can judge which way to go, thanks.

From my preliminary research it's looking like either Eibach or H&R for stock type springs front and rear for a drop of 1/2" to 2 1/2" depending on what you want. I don't know if we can replace the front Macpherson strut with a coil over.....? And of course I have no idea of ride quality with the spring change. You have to trust who you buy them from, major hassle to change them twice if you don't like the ride!

I don't know of any lowering kits for the E550C that won't cause a problem with the dynamic suspension. That being said Renntech has lowered their E550C using a RT kit, but I believe you'll lose the dynamic function. Check their site for photos of the E coupe.

Bum1- the coupe looks surprisingly good without the side trim!
The tint looks good too: we did the same.

I removed the door chrome strip. Wheels are Forgestar cf10 19 inch. Tires pilot super sport. 245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear. Have a few things left to do and I am done. Going to wrap the chrome window trim and chrome trim above license plate black and lower the car.

Looks great! I get the feeling we're going to have two very similar looking cars. Although I really like your designo interior, couldn't find one with the specs I wanted. I might go with two-tone rims though with black / graphite accents if I can find a pair that looks good. How's the traction with that wheel / tire set up? Did you sell the stock set, if so did you get a decent price for them?

Traction is much better. I plan on selling the stock set. Not sure what you can get for them.

One of the first things I asked about was how the chrome strip was attached. So glad it is just by tape and no pins through the sheet metal! Your black looks very classy and is set off with the new rims. I went with the Palladium Silver since my current car is all black and I needed a change. But when the black is clean, it is stunning. I'll wait on rims until I live with the car awhile to see what might accent the Palladium the best. I will definitely wrap the window chrome with black, change to the black grill with just the chrome star, and drop the car an inch or so if I can keep a decent ride. And then spend some time learning how all the various gizmos are controlled with the COMAND system!

Curious as to what offsets you had these made to. I am considering the same wheels but haven't made up my mind yet. These look great.

I hate to admit it, but I don't know. The owner of the wheel shop I bought them from in Tampa told me he was ordering them from forgestar to fit the e550 correctly.

Did you lower the car? How did that affect the ride quality? "Sport" mode with stock suspension is a bit bumpy for me....and I live in an area with relatively good roads.

Also, your car is not done.....you see that chrome strip right above your license plate? Get that **** painted black! I painted mine and it makes the *** end of the car look much better.

Did you vinyl wrap (black) the chrome trim around the windows?

Yes, Car is done. I painted the chrome trim around windows and above license plate. I aslo paint the silver part of the grill. All gloss black. Yes, car is lowered. Ride quality is fine.
