Depends on the wheel you buy, but mine was plug and play, no modification necessary. I bought the wheel off ebay for about $1000. I have a DIY thread on this forum if you need to know any more details about the swap

The wheel I bought came with the airbag, you need the newer airbag to work with the newer wheel.

Today I pulled the tint off the headlights....going to wait a little bit before I pull the taillight tint off to see if it grows on me or not.

I'm planning on tinting my car 40% all around, too. Is tint on the driver and passenger window legal? It's illegal in B.C, but I don't think I would get pulled over for 40%. Can you take some pictures, please?!

Legality varies depending on location. In CA, any % tint on front windows is technically illegal. Obviously, the lighter you go, the lesser the chance of being detected and subsequently ticketed.

If you happen to get pulled over it's always a good idea to roll down front windows just to be safe. Most of the time they'll just write up whatever they stopped you for and not even notice the windows being down. Worst case it's a fix it ticket and you can always remove and re-apply the tint. Whatever percentage you choose, just be sure to go the same all the way around as the coupe does NOT look good with mismatched fronts and backs. And I don't recommend doing anything to the windshield- I tried going with a light 50% for heat protection but it gives the glass a 'wet' look at night and makes traffic lights somewhat blurry.

Caker- good call on removing front headlamp tints but before removing rears might want to try leaving clear strip undone and see how you like it. IMO it looks much cleaner- someone on the forum posted a pic of this.

^^ Haha sorry man, I just thought it looked weird the more I looked at it. Would look better on a darker car I think. I took a pic during removal so you could see what just the inner lamps tinted looks like.

That's a good idea, just unsure of how i"ll be able to do it without damaging the tail lamp underneath. Maybe I'll give it a shot today and report back!

I found it light to be honest, but I wanted that. It's deceptive in darker light, some people have said they didn't notice it in the daylight.

Not much of an update, put some clear side markers on today and stripped off the tail light tint. Trying to plan a little bit of a stereo upgrade at the moment.

Loving the car man! My 550 is black/black and I think I'm gonna go for the tint on my tail lights, headlights, and side markers. Do you notice a difference in lighting with tint on your headlight?

Amazing looking car. I'm also in Calgary and wondered if you have a good source on the HRE's. Can you give me a ball park on the cost?

Not really, the shop said it reduces light output by 6% though.

I bought these used actually, I was shopping for new HRE's or ADV1 and stubled across this set from a gentleman in Ontario who had barely used them on his W212. Best place to get those kind of wheels in Calgary would be through Tunerworks or VEX performance.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, will post more pics in a week! I've sprayed the side markers body color, and the differential got installed yesterday.

The link you put up for the license plate LEDs is:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/280847930955?...ht_7520wt_1186

Just want to make sure these are the correct bulbs before I order, they state they fit the W204.

Can I bug you to confirm.

Yes those will work fine, the W204 has the same type of license plate bulb housings (T10/194/etc).

The grilles will not come with it unless requested, or unless you purchase a grille specifically listed with the distronic plate. I noticed the seller I bought from had a distronic grille for the C207 listed just recently. I can't speak for any other brand of grilles, only the ones from the seller I posted the link to.

Hey Caker..... Wondering if you got your coilovers yet? I'm waiting on your feedback to see if I should order some K-Dubs to complete the stance on mine.

Sorry guys, been working out of town a lot and was waiting til I got it all dialed in before I posted pics. Here's a teaser for you.
Caker's Build Thread - 2010 E550c-rps20130503_192826_zpsc47dcaaa.jpg

Rear still needs to come down an inch or so, and I'll have to swap the 295's for some 275's. It will just barely rub on big bumps as it sits now. Coilovers feel awesome, nice and stiff but still comfortable. I ended up getting the sport-comfort model of KW's, I wanted to retain as much comfort as I could. Only downsides this far are the car is stuck in sport mode (working on a solution), and the airbag in the steering wheel rattles on bumpy roads lol. The OSGiken diff is also in and it's amazing, car should have come with one stock. Oh I also removed all the window tint except the back window, the 40% ended up being darker than I thought and I was always paranoid around police. I also put in clear side markers which I painted body color, then went back to oem orange. I like to do things twice if you havn't noticed.

Iridium silver side markers for sale if anyone wants em!

Car is looking great! Best one in Calgary by far.

I'm getting old, so comfort is a top priority for me. Once you get the sport mode issue settled, you'll have to let me know where you went to get them done. Been chatting with Davenport & Tunerworks and they both preferred the KWs.

Cheers guys

I got the coilovers through VEX performance, they installed them too. They're working with me to resolve the sport mode issue, and supposedly have a solution from KW already. Just need to take car in next week. If you call them, ask for Jimmy and say Caker sent you and say you have the exact same car
