HOLD function on 2012 E350 Coupe?
I don't know if I learned or if the car learned
but now it works 99% of the time on the first try and I don't have to worry about pressing it halfway first or whatever. I just press down firmly until Hold appears in the Multi Function display, as shown in the video, and I'm set.Seriously, it feels as though the actuating mechanism wore in or
something. The more I tried to use it, the more reliable it became, without consciously changing my technique one bit.
A small but really nice feature. Glad you got yours working.

When you do read it, you'll find there are actually two separate holding functions. The one we've been discussing here is in fact called HOLD. When activated as discussed above it keeps the brakes applied until you step on the accelerator or shift out of Drive, Reverse or Neutral or shift to Park.
The other function is called Hill Assist or Hill Start Assist. When you come to a stop and apply the brakes on a sufficiently inclined surface, then move your foot off the brake pedal to depress the accelerator, this feature automatically continues to apply the brakes for a very brief period - roughly two seconds - to prevent the car's rolling while you get your foot over to the accelerator.
Reading that owner's manual in all it's typically **** Mercedes detail can be a pain, but there's lots of good info in there.
Happy reading!
