Should i get 2011 e550 or 2012 e350?

The 2011 e550 has appearance sport/amg pkg with p1 n p2 with 16k miles for 46k. With the 2011 i plan to do the straight led and steering wheel change.

The 2012 350 only has 10-11k, it has p1 , appearNce n sport package for 43-44k Pros: i dont have to make any mods unless it comes with luxury bumper and not sport/amg since its 2012.

I dont mind the extra power from 550, im into power but i dont really drive fast anymore. Just want a cruiser with enough power. My previous car was a 335i, which route should i go with?
Thanks

I would go for the 550 If you're going to drive it a lot (commute long distances daily) and concerned about fuel, then go for the 350.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
IMHO, based on info provided above its easy - E550 all the way.

FYI (applies only if you're in the USA): all E350s (regardless of year) come only with "luxury" or non-sport/non-AMG bumpers.

I agree with threeMBs. 550 would be my pick.

This is more of a weekend car for me. I really like the new DLR better than the 2010-2011. Thats roughly going to run me 1,400-2,000 just for parts and labors.

On the e550 im getting it comes with the woodgrain steering wheel, which i hate the most about the car. I can stand black woods but not the brown colored trims. This swap might costs me over 2,000 along with steering wheel, airbag and labor.

I would pick an e550 over the 350 anytime if money wasnt a factor.and its also the main reason why i made this post. If I were to get the 12 e350 i would save myself few thousands but loses performance at the same time..

But i guess i can have those mods done later when i have extra money to spend in next year??

I'd go 550, I wish I did. Not only is there a huge difference in power, the AMG bodystyling is exclusive to the 550 for the coupe/cab. The AMG package makes a huge difference.

Are either (or both of them) CPO? I would go CPO and if that is not in the picture, go with the 550.

I see a lot of e350 with the amg bumper on this forums? If the amg bodystyling is only available to e550 then Id definitely get 550 just for the body style.

They are both CPO.

You're going to spend at least 3-4K upgrading the '11 E550, so why not look for a '12 E550 with the options you want?

Also, the E350 is no slouch! Go test drive one and you'll see what I mean.

The only people on here that have AMG bodystyling on E350s are people from different countries. For some reason, Mercedes decided that the US is the only country that doesn't get the AMG package. It's stupid, but maybe it's marketing to give people another reason to go with the more expensive E550.

Forget this forum. Did you not not see (physically) the actual cars you're considering? Guess not since you're not aware, if you're in US, that E350s do not have AMG exteriors which E550s do. There are many more E350s than E550s on streets. Did you not see that they look different? Just by visiting mbusa.com, you will get lots of info.

The 2012 also has a higher resale value and longer warranty.

In an investment point of view, The 2012 seems more ideal. I also checked carfax on boths car.
The 11 e550 has 3.5 rating (both taillights have crack on it and needs replacement)
The 12 e350 has 4.6 rating (minor light scratch on rear bumper bout 5"-6")

Im going to see both car by friday, keep you guys updated with pictures.

Thank you guys for all the informations!

Having had the 2011 E550, I can say GO WITH IT!!! You won't be disappointed. And it definitely sounds a lot more manly when you dig into the throttle.

I found the 350 to be anemic when I test drove it.

Sorry, but I don't believe you can look at a car as an investment any more than a wife. You have to live with/in this artificial being, and you should make sure it's one you can have a happy relationship with.
