Electronic stability control, you get less traction. Only dangerous in wet conditions on turns at high speeds.

Why would that turn on if I just floor it? I will be going 50 on the ON RAMP getting onto 95, I floor it, and that turns on. Car runs sluggish as heck until I restart my car.

I really don't know why that happens, maybe it's because you're putting a lot pressure on the suspension but I'm really not sure. You should bring it to the dealer and ask them why it's happening, they should know and be able to fix it for free as long as your car is still under warranty.

I appreciate the help. Just made an appointment, hope I get a loaner.

Looks like you need a dealer fix for the ESC problem. When you jump on it one (or both) rear tires lose traction. To correct, the ESC reduces power and applies brakes to the slipping wheel. By getting an error, I guess the brakes are not responding to the ESC properly to prevent the slippage and the computer sees the error in the braking system and leaves the engine in a reduced power state. I think you would also have problems now with the anti-lock brakes but do not get on your brakes hard enough to lock them up so it never shows.

If this happens in the dry, I would also check rear tire pressures, you still have something wrong with the car but I do not think an E550 would break tires loose in the dry (at 50 mph) unless it is a rough road. In the wet, they may have enough power to spin the tires at that speed.

I appreciate it...I dropped it off earlier before the gym. Service writer said that he hasn't heard of it, but that he will do the research and replace all that needs to be.

I like a Service Writer that wants to look at everything on my car and immediately fix everything. The center caps on my car a little faded and he wants to replace those, the lugs as well. The bolster on my car doesn't always inflate as hard as it should, so they are going to replace all of those workings as well. I don't have an extended warranty, but I got the quote from MB today to purchase an additional 7 years and additional 75000 miles. Money well spent.

On a side note, I wish my car could break traction at 50 mph, that would be some real power.

Thanks for the feedback!
