Offset Question
Hey guys,
I had my new rims finally arrive but they were not the offsets I ordered.
What I ordered:
19x8.5 et +35
19x10 et +50
What I received:
19x8.5 et +40
19x10 et +45
I will be running 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 tires and I will be using Eibach lowering springs on my 2012 E550 coupe.
I realize the front will fit but not be that exciting and not sure if I will have rubbing issues after lowering. What about the rear offsets?
Do I send them back and get what I ordered or will these offsets be ok? I really wanted the +35 offset for the front but have no idea on the ideal 10" rear offset.
The worst part is the +35 and +50 was recommended by the wheel shop and the manufacturer.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

It is really tempting to take the wheels after a long wait, especially when you see your wheel and can't wait to get it on your car. However, at the end of the day you know that you want the more aggressive fitment that was ordered and you will regret not getting it your way!!
I would say send them back and get it done right.

Ok, wheel shop informed me the wheels I received have the correct offset that I ordered but the standard offset label was applied to the box and stamped on the inner part of the wheel. So.. they say offsets are correct but just not labelled that way.

Agreed. Very suspicious. I am getting the wheels put on in a week so that will be the day I know if the vendor is BSing me or if fitment is good. Just seems weird that a company that offers custom offsets stamps their wheel with a default offset... First that I heard of this, so we shall see.

I already purchased 285/30/19 tires for the rear so it is too late anyway. I shouldn't have any issues if the offsets are what I ordered. I am just surprised BC racing doesn't stamp their wheels with the actual offsets. Oh well, I will know next Monday when I get them mounted and car lowered.

That is a really sketchy statement. I could understand the box being mis-labeled, but the wheel mis-stamped? That's just weird.
On the other hand, the cheap Chinese knock-offs I had were a little bit off - the ET45 rears (ordered and stamped) were probably closer to 50.

Well... Had them installed today and rubs really bad in the rear. Not drivable. Tires get chewed up. Rubs in slight bumps and turns, so clearly either these are +45 and not +50 as the forum wheel vendor said they were or the fitment the wheel manufacture was off on their suggestion. Either way, they don't work.
The fronts don't look aggressive but not complaining because at least they don't rub.
Had the Eibach springs installed by my auto shop. Looks great, drives great (except for the wheel issue). They are the ones for the E350 but no problems on the E550 (at least for now). Gives the car a great stance.
I knew the wheels must have the offsets that were actually stamped on the wheel but they insisted it was correct and had to mount tires and install in order to prove it. Waste of time...
Any suggestions on the offset issue? I asked the forum wheel guy if he accepts returns for the rear wheel so we shall see...

As for the Eibachs, I assume you've put the original wheels on and have ridden the car... Does it throw any errors on your dash? The Eibachs are listed for cars without agility control and your E550 has it, so I'm wondering if you're experiencing any problems? My understanding is that agility control are basically valves adjusting pressure in the shock absorbers, so technically there should be no issues, however, Eibach is listing these spring for cars without agility... and I'm wondering why?

How can your setup not rub as it seems to be the same as mine but 20" wheels instead of 19". Unless they really screwed up the offsets my car is not reallly drivable and rubs over the smallest bump in the road with just me driving.

You spent a lot of time with Nawlins on this forum determining the appropriate offsets that you wanted to use for your car and the vendor/manufacturer did not provide what was ordered ... send them back [including the fronts] and have them redone to the offset specs that were ordered. You have already voiced your concern prior to installation and there should be no reason that the vendor/manufacturer would not take back the wheels and make the appropriate corrections.
