Hi, i`m spanish guy and have a important problem.
I buy in ebay.de a complet set headlamps ils led for my new w212 facelift and i think tath this change is possible, but in a oficial dealer in spain say me that if i dont buy the headlamps in a oficial dealer dont give me the code to activate the light.
Anyone have the code to pass to led to led ils????

MB dealers typically don't know (or want) to make changes to your datacard. You need to find another dealer that will program the vehicle to include the code for that headlight. In practice you rarely can just drop another part in your car without changing other things like the SAM or some wiring.
Take about the idea to do the same, you will to buy a lot of things and MB official dealers will refuse to change / program th ecu ... i did the final electronic installation in Germany where people are more coll than in France !!!
Only thing that COST silly much is the headlights. The rest is very cheap. I program my self and I have a module for the lights so no new sam needed. Hella who makes these headlights will release them soon to the public I Heard and that mean they will be way cheaper to buy from them instead of Mercedes.

Sorry Chris but most of people doesn't know how to program module and need to pay for this. The rest is very cheap ... oops... do you know the price for Front bumper Mercedes ? and the rest ? But you are right on second hand market this is possible find good prices :-)

It converts the can bus signals so it works for the old SAM. Still needs programming though.

We (the workshop and I) have ordered the ILS lights trough Hella and the rest (bumpers/SAM units/grille) trough MB. Are you saying that we do not have to change the two SAM controle units?

So finally the facelift is complete. I had to take the car to Germany to have the wiring and programming done for the ILS lights. The rear lights are also working perfectly. They mounted and programmed a new front SAM unit - the result is amazing - the curvelight, hold function, daylight, highbeam etc. Everything works and no faults in the instrument cluster 😊
