2012 E550 Coupe
My E550 Coupe ...
After a long wait I finally have my new wheels ...
and here are the final results on my E550 ...
Wheels:
PUR 9ine forged monoblock in Two tone Gloss Black on Diamond Black finish
19X8.5 et 39 Front
19X10 et 50 Rear
Tires:
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
245/35/19 Front
275/30/19 Rear
Other Work:
Side chrome moldings and blue efficiency badges removed
Front grill: Slats wrapped in matte black vinyl and face trim wrapped in gloss black vinyl [couldn't do anything with the star ... distronic!!]
Window trim, DRL trim and rear trunk trim wrapped in gloss black vinyl
Rear emblems/badges painted in gloss black
Exhaust tips powdercoated gloss black [Not shown, recently done]
All work and pictures were done by SR Auto Group in Vancouver and I am very pleased with the final product. The wheel fitment is great and PUR was able to get much greater concavity on the front wheels than I expected.
My thanks to SR and PUR for putting everything together for me.
Time for some summer fun!!!

very nice!
looking at your car.. makes me want to lower with springs.. but I'll hold off until I get new tires.
btw: My coupe is the same color as yours.. looks sweet with the wheels.

Looks great! Nice to see a little bit of rubber stretching happen once in a while. You can get aftermarket grilles that work with distronic, I got one off ebay. Another member is getting occasional errors from the distronic sensor but mine's been good.

I think you misunderstood my distronic comment, I am happy with the wrap on the grill but would have liked to try gloss black over the chrome on the center grill star emblem. That would interfere with the distronic, but, at the end of the day, it wasn't that big of deal I don't mind how it came out.

Price?
Hey Gerry --- I'm in Vancouver and just started shopping around for a 2010-2012 e550 (or e350) but have to say that the first thing I notice about the e is that the wheels are screaming out to be replaced. You've done an awesome job. Can I ask what the pricetag was at the end of the day?
Thx!

How much work was involved in removing side chrome moldings and blue efficiency badges? Was there any bodywork required after removal (are these just applied with glue)?

The side mouldings and blue efficiency badges are just glued down and don't require body work if removed carefully. There are many threads on removal, I didn't do it myself I had it done by pros.
