2014 E550C diamond white on red
Hi yall,
Just wanted to introduce myself as I just picked up this lovely new ride. Just feel blessed to own such a beautiful car, i'm babying it for the 1st 1000 miles, can't wait to open her up and make good use of the power This is my first benz so i'm try to learn all the options in the car, feels like i'm sitting in a computer. 1st mod is checking local installers for a full front clear bra, looking into xpel ultimate, any recommendation for installer in Socal, more specifically around OC? Enjoy the pics attached!

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I checked out black n white next to each other, feels that the white bring out the lines of the car better. If I were to order from the factory, i'll probably opt out for the polar white to save 1500, but it was on the lot and I couldn't pass it up. I think i got myself a pretty good deal (~12% of MSRP) for this time of the year, probably could have done better around the annual MB's winter event...If someone need a hook up in socal, my salesman was pretty good, wasn't pushy at all and didn't discriminate. I'm fairly young, walked into the dealership with short & sandals and he didn't judged, unlike another dealership nearby, I walked outta there in a hurry as they were giving me weird looks

nice to see another E550 coupe in So Cal.
I have run into a few less than (4) 2012+ E550 couples, in about 5 months of owning my coupe. Mostly silver and black.
White is my favorite AMG color.. hopefully my next car (W212 E63TT) will be white or Silver.
I like my steal gray, but I do like lighter colors for dust reasons.
enjoy and get it tuned by OE out of huntington beach. Best $1k you will invest on a mod.

Thanks all! Thus far really enjoying the car even though I'm breaking it in slowly. I can feel the potential power coming from my MDX SUV, lol. Looks gorgeous, plenty of power, lots of tech, audio is pretty good. After a hard day of work, I just smiles when I step in and push that start button.
Things I wish i could do:
- permanently disable the eco start/stop function. It *might* not harm the engine, but definitely wouldn't help it in the long run. I purchased the car so planning on keeping it for a while. Don't mind the fuel economy, it's a v8! Just gotta program it into the memory cell: seat belt, eco button
- drive mode/handling mode ties into the key being used. e.g. I drive in sport/sport, the lady drive in eco/comfort. Sucks to have it default to a certain settings every time u start the car.
btw, I got the full front end/rocker panels/door edges/door cups wrapped in xpel ultimate a couple days ago, if anyone wants to see additional pics, just let me know. My first car worthy of being wrap, I was nervous, but it turned out pretty good.

i would like to see the extra pics after the Xpel. I plan on doing the same to mine once I get it. I'm doing Euro delivery on my E550 in a few months and I'm still torn between Diamond White and Obsidian Blackwith Red nappa interior. I have two months to make up my mind once and for all, so the extra pics would help.
Glad you are enjoying the car so far.

Kirkster,
Attached are pics after the xpel ultimate installation. I had the full front end (bumper, fenders, hood, mirrors) along with door cups, door edges and both rocker panels wrapped. This is my first wrap and all in all, i'm quite happy with the result. It didn't alter the appearance of the diamond white when looking from front to back and between places that has been wrapped vs non-wrapped.
When asking for quotes, be sure to ask for all the edges to be tucked for a seamless look as possible. The bumper can't be tuck unless they take it off and it was a no-no for me .
Also, I learned this after the fact: Xpel do not have pre-cut bumper for the '14 coupe yet. They have the '14 cabriolet version, with that version, there are two 'air release' lines on the lower sill on each side of the bumper. Look at pics IMG_6669 and you'll know what I mean. If i were to do it all over, I woulda paid an extra hundred bux or two to get a full custom bumper as well, that way, there are no lines. So be very specific with the installer when you're getting your quote...g'luck!

Thanks for the pics. So I take it you had the whole hood and fenders done along with the other stuff? What about the headlights? I suspect by the time my car shows up they should have the pattern for the 2014 bumper. If I may ask, how much did that job set you back? You can PM me if you prefer.
I do have to say the diamond white is pretty stunning. I don't know what I'm going to do now.
Thanks,
Kirk

From what I gathered, there are two types of coverages:
- Premium/full/complete (different shop called it different things). Basically it covers the entire bumper/hood/fenders. Price ranges from 1200-1500.
- Partial kit - cover up to about 24" on the hood/fenders. Price ranges from 600-800. I don't know if these prices are location dependent, so ymmv.
I opted for the full coverage since I already decided to spend the $ to do it, might as well do it right. I feel the partial kit with the line across the hood/fenders makes it more 'visible' and the edge is probably a dust magnet.
I went to xpel locator website, emailed a few installers that are 'factory trained' and have 'DAP software' for quotes:
http://locator.xpel.com/
Then I started asking for total price with added items: headlights/door cups/door edges/rocker panels as I know these areas are prone to scratches. Pinned them against each other and choose the one that gave me the best deal while still reputable (check yelp, # of car installed on xpel's locator website, how their shop looks, etc). I ended up paying 1500 for the entire job, no tax on cash .
Why don't u drop by a dealership and asked to see a white n black park next to each other? That's what I did and u know the result

Thanks! I emailed a few dealer and The House were most responsive via email/phone before I went to the dealership. Fletcher Jones wouldn't even discuss pricing unless you come in. The House isn't as grand or big as other dealerships in the area, but based on my experience, their pricing is pretty darn good!

Thank you very much. This is very helpful. Let's stay in touch. I would like to compare colors but no one in Minnesota has coupes.
