CF spoiler install has gaps...:(
I had purchased a CF spoiler and while the spoiler looks great, I had noticed that there seems to be some gaps on back side. The part that is sitting on the top of the trunk seems to be fully in contact, but there seems to be an issue with the edge that is supposed to adhere to the rear of the trunk. The rear section that is directly over the brake light seems to be in full contact, but to the immediate left and right there seem to be large sections (>8") where the tape doesn't seem to be touching the car at all (though it seems a few inches of the extreme left and right are making good contact).
The grey tape that is pre-applied...what is it? Because of the grey, it made me think it was the Scotch (by 3M) Exterior Mounting Tape (up to 5lbs) -> http://www.homedepot.ca/product/scot...ng-tape/966836.
I wasn't sure if I would need to re-attach the spoiler, so just in case, I went ahead and bought the Extreme Mounting tape (up to 20lbs) -> http://www.homedepot.ca/product/scot...ng-tape/846200
My question is this: the spoiler seems to be holding on pretty strong at the moment (I can open and close the trunk by just holding the spoiler and it doesn't seem to really move if I attempt to pry it off). So should I....
a) Leave it as is
b) remove it, clean it and trunk and apply the Black extreme mounting tape instead of what was pre-applied (which I am still not sure what it is)
c) apply silicone around the gaps/edges
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Also, unless i've missed something, it seems that no matter how much contact there is between the tape and the car, there will always be a gap between the spoiler and the car because of the tape in between. Are you guys using silicone around the edges?

-1st and 2ndpic are of the top of the trunk and while there IS contact, it isn't completely flush.
-3rd and last pic show places that seem to have no contact whatsoever (about 1" - 2" and are just to the left of the 3rd/middle/trunk brake light)
-4th, 6th, 7th are showing the gap between the trunk and the spoiler; the spoiler seems to be really pulling at the adhesive and I'm afraid it's going to get worse and eventually lose contact completely.
-5th pic is of the middle and is the part that seems to be the most flush (i.e. no tape or gap visible)
I was walking in my underground parking lot and noticed, specifically, one BMW that has a CF spoiler on and it has NO gaps at all; there is no tape visible and the spoiler is completely flush with the trunk.
If my pics are what is to be expected of an install, then please let me know, but I was severely disheartened when I saw the BMW's CF spoiler completely flush.
