Front sensor red dots?
Front sensor red dots?
Hi,
I've noticed that sometimes the front warning sensor will have 4 red dots (2 on each side of the center), no noise or beep though, and it comes and goes and I can't seem to attribute it to anything. It happens even if the car in front is quite a distance away and when the red dots are on, they usually stay for a couple of seconds then go back to being 2 orange dots (1 on each side of center). Would anyone know what the red dots mean?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but I know my car failed ot beep at me while I was looking at oncoming traffic and hit the car in front of me that stopped halfway into the empty feeder. urg, haha
You have the drivers assitance package? I would think the car should have stopped itself before it hit the other car. It may bee speed dependent though. Ive' read the owners manual at least 10 times and it's all blurry to me still...too many what if's.
the red dots I'm referring to are just 2 dots on either side of the center; the warning red dots on the outer edge of the notification area (i.e. after the orange dots) behave in the manner you're referring to, but I can't quite figure out what the red dots are that appear by themselves are.

This usually happens to me at a certain chain of drive through restaurants. It happens in both my c218 and c207 so i figured it's some kind of RF interference. I had MB check it out during a scheduled maintenance but the found nothing wrong.

It could be interference yeah, I had the problem from day 1 with my '11 E. Had Mercedes look in to it whilst under warranty and they came back to me and said it was a fault with the front SAM unit so replaced it, didn't have any problems until just recently, I say problems.. not really a problem I just turn the sensors off then on by the switch on the center console. Doesn't affect the car in any real way that I've noticed, hope that helps.
this happened to me every time I went through the car wash with my ML, and just happened for the first time today with the new C class when I had a lot of snow on the front of the car. Basically what I've gathered is that it means it can't give you an accurate distance at the moment
Red dots on front parking periodically without sound
Hello, gents
Did you finally determine the problem that you discussed here?
I have the same issue - red dots on front parking which appear periodically for couple seconds and then back to normal function. It happens in different places in random manner.
I wonder what should I inspect or maybe guide the garage mechanic towards?
My car is C200 (W204) 2008 year
Not ready to pay tons of money for replacing something.
