engines question

Hi,
Can someone advise the engine designations for 2010 e350 and e550 a I both are direct injection and use premium or regular gas?

I had 2009 bmw 335 twin turbo and direct injection and due to the distance I drive an T direct injection it had massive carbon buildup.

Thank you

E350 is direct injection, the E550 isn't.

anyone not using premium fuel with a top end engine is asking for trouble!!
You may need to prevention rather than reaction to the carbon build up. I regularly use a top end product, every 20k miles to clean out any carbon build up.

I would never consider using regular fuel.

The reason i am asking is that i had 2009 bmw 335, twin turbo direct injection.
I drove short distances (always used premium gas and seafoam cleaner) but the carbon build up was immense.

Do both engines require premium?

I'm more and more interested in the E550 over the E350.
I don't have the car yet and in process of research before I buy.

I loved the bmw 335 for the driving dynamics but didn't like the turbos and the horrendous reliability so for me NO TURBOS anymore.

Thank you.

If you're looking at U.S. cars, MB did not introduce Direct Injection until the 2012 model year (mine was the first year).

2010 E350's and E550's are not direct injected in U.S. models. Both require premium fuel per the manuals.

If you're looking at non-U.S. models, I think but not certain that Direct Injection was available earlier on some engines/models.
