Out of curiosity, did you go back to stock paint because the rubber coatings didn't look good up close? I was debating painting my car with a rubberized coating but from what i gather most people are only satisfied with it from at least 10 feet away.

Eventually, I went back to the stock black.Oh and up close, the product looks ok to me. Not smooth like paint of course, but if sprayed by a pro, it still looks good. There seems to be some professional products out there that are able to reproduce the gloss/clear coat look of paint. Looks smooth to me in pictures. I haven't seen one in person. I, personally, like the satin look. Not full on matte, but rather has a little sheen to it. On the white color in my signature, you can kind of see the sheen on the rear quarter panel.
