Hello,When I activate the roof down switch,the windows open and the rear shelf opens slightly.Nothing else.I have had the car on diagnostics today and it says the following.B255F24(A55F24) Status:Stored.The limit switch'Soft top compartment lid in catch position' has a malfunction.There is a short circuit to positive.Any help would be appreciated

I think you may have to go to a dealer or independent as I have found that there are not that many with the kind of technical expertise you need on this forum and it may take a time for someone who can help to log on!!!
Very few have access to the STAR diagnostics!!!!

Surprise surprise the roof has started to work.I have not done anything to it except dis-connect battery.I left it dis-connected for about 20 minutes,re-connected,tried and still no good.Left it over night,tried again and now working.Pure luck I think.I keep my fingers crossed till the next time.Thanks for advice anyway

Disconnecting the battery is a good strategy to correcting the error! The only thing I have done on my soft top is fill/top up the hydraulic oil reservoir. For once inexpensive to buy from Mercedes and easy to do yourself. This is one of the few things that never gets looked at even in a service.
I also check it over and grease the various parts that rub together when the roof operates including the latches.

Hey guys I am having pretty much the same issue any helps?
The roof gets ready as it wants to go up
But the back doesn't want to open
And gets stuck
If anyone has anything they can advice please let me know

I recently took my e350 Cabriolet in for service, and one of the things they do is upgrade software. The "B" service is expensive, but I had heard that on my year, 2012, the software upgrade would make the roof deployment and retraction smoother, and it did. It use to make a sickening CRUNCH sound when the roof went up and the back clamped down. All this to say, if you don't do the expensive service, I simply don't know how you'd get the SW upgrade. It's worth the money when you realize all the filters, fluids, and checks they do in the service. Also, I've read a lot that cold booting the car via battery terminal disconnect works to solve many ills.

Does anyone have a definitive or other answer to the solution to this problem? I have the same issue that the top starts to open and then pauses after the panel pops open over the trunk. Thanks
