So many options...
How important is ventilated seats? I like the fact that option exists but I can't find it in every car. Do you use it often?
4matic...I live in the DC area and we get hit with ice and snow. This car will be my daily driver. But is the extra money worth spending for 2 months out of the year? Is it true it costs extra money to maintain and repair?
I found a 4matic that I like, but no ventilated seats in the color combo I want.
As for the ventilated seats, I got my car in November so I haven't used them in the summer time yet. But one thing to consider is the color of the interior are you looking to get. I'd imagine if it was dark, they would be more useful. Also if it were a convertible, you might not need it as much. From my experience with friends who have them, they seem to be overrated.

When you stand outside the (locked) car and hold down the unlock button, the windows and sunroof open (not sure what happens on the convertible) and the vented seats throw out cool air.
I've driven my rear wheel coupe (550, non-4Matic) in the winter for about the last 3 winters now.
My recommendation would be simply to get a good set of winter rims and tires and you will be fine. I think even if you had a 4Matic with summer tires you might find the winter snow tough going.

Any thoughts on the car links above. I have no idea why they would need to replace a seat unless it's been in an accident but it hasn't been reported on Carfax.

Dealers don't work deals with buyers anymore

oh well. I'll go back to looking at CLKs if I can't find the E I want.
NICE!! This is what I want to hear, I'll keep this on my must have list.
One year later, I waited and I got the E550 convertible I was looking for and I'm so happy I did. So do yourself a favor and be patient and wait if you can. You'll find it.

Thank you very much... I was thisclose, to pulling the trigger on the CLK550 this weekend. Lol. Patience definitely will be key.
Don't go the CLK route, nice looking car but you'll spend the bulk of your time with a putty knife jamming felt in every crevice to try to quell the rattles. And the telematics are agony.

I shopped CLK55 Cab's, Loved it till I drove an E550 Cab, Was a really big difference, the E feels bigger and wider too and at 6-2 that matters to me. The CLK was kinda loud, like was said previous, the E is very quiet... I'd wait to get what ya want especially if you plan to keep it for a long time, We don't ever plan to sell the E.
And yes we held out for the ventilated seats, it's a must here in Florida, otherwise you end up all sweaty .... down.... there......
when the top is down, even with the A/C on..Although it was a little chilly yesterday so we had the air scarf and the heated seats on, that was pretty pleasant too
Except the air scarf fan is kinda loud at low speeds... once you get past 40/50 or so you don't notice...

I might take the 4 matic off my list... but the ventilated seats stays.
