Vossen CVT's Are Finally ON

Just picked up the E400 with the new Vossen CVT's and tires on it. The car looks just awesome, pictures soon. We had a spring snow storm here in New England yesterday so the dealer told me to keep the loaner (C300) overnight and come to pick up the car today. It's still messy outside so the car got real dirty just driving it from the dealer to my office 5 miles away. Pic's after I get it cleaned up again.

Congrats! I also thought about getting the CVT when I was shopping for Vossen's rims, so I can only imagine how awesome it will look on your E400.

Congrats! Look forward to the pics.
I am STILL waiting to install my own new rims and tires - had planned on doing it last weekend, until I heard about yesterday's snow. Always next weekend!

Congrats! Can't wait to see the pics! Post all the details on the wheels / tires setup (offsets, wheel widths, tire sizes).

A few quick shots with the iPhone, it's very dirty from just driving it 18 miles. I'm going to go crazy this week as it's going to be a rainy week so cleaning it makes no sense.

Front 8.5 x 19 +45 with 245/35R-19 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE760

Rear 10 x 19 +55 +5mm spacer 275/30R-19 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE760

I opted to not push the envelope on tire size to ensure I had zero rubbing and the option to get a mild drop without worry. I also think this size tire looks right on these wheel width allowing for just a small rim reveal which looks very smart. I also needed to go with 19's due to the terrible roads we have here, 20's would have been to harsh.

See these shots to appreciate how the drop does help/look.

Yeah it was that very car that was my inspiration and helped me made the decision to go with the CVT's. Lowering is on the radar but living in New England does raise some issues. If I could find a solution that allowed me to lower in the summer and go back to stock in the winter I would strongly consider it.

well ... the KW HAS does provide for that which you are describing, however the reviews on the AUDI S5 forum hasn't always been positive for this item ... seems to be issues regarding rear sagging and the inability to get backs to stock at their highest position. A suggested solution was to get the Avant rear springs to go with the A/S5 fronts, but they're not packaged that way (and therefore an additional cost). The Vogtland lowering springs Andrew C Coupe is using seems to be a decent compromise between those shown in the Vossen gallery and your stock set-up

Looks amazing and fitment is perfectly fine. Doesn't need a drop at all in my opinion. Congrats and thanks for posting the dimensions! Let us know if you run into any issues

Finally got to put on a few miles today without dealing with friggin spring snow. OMG does it handle better now. The Michelin all seasons were OK but now with the Ultra Performance summer tires and less side wall it corners very well. It's already received a number of stares and positive comments.

Another interesting thing with these wheels - When you're rolling along at highway speeds the spokes almost disappear and turn into just a blur allowing cars near you to look inside the wheel barrels almost like there are no spokes at all. In just the couple of days that these have been on the car I have had several cars near me on the highway me give a thumbs up.

Yeah the first time I caught sight of that in a reflection I thought, oh man that is sweet.
