I've never seen it installed on a car in real life. Then again, I don't think Mercedes sells a lot of these cars and most buyers probably don't mod them.
I'm highly considering it. I'd feel more comfortable getting a thumbs up from someone who's bought and installed one before. I might give them a call and find out more info about it.
The thing I would careful of is that the pictures don't match. The upainted hood is not the one they show on the cars. I would get succinct clarification.
I've contacted Prior Design about theirs. PD's is an add-on. You have to cut out the middle your existing hood. (Image attached) It's a lot more work. It's also more expensive just for the part than this hood.
This one is a full hood replacement. (Good to keep or sell old one) The vents are fake and drain out the side. I'm sure if you wanted to you could modify it to be real but I'd probably leave it.

Hmm. What differences do you notice?
I know the yellow car is not an E-Class but the red car is.
Mainly the carbon fiber surrounds for the vents. You wouldn't paint them and they are raised a bit, the painted hood pics don't have this raised surface. Also they show one hood that is carbon on the side, indicating the whole thing is, I am sure it isn't wrap because it reflects like real gloss carbon fiber which wrap simply can't do.

Yeh I see what you mean. I know they make two types. One that's fully carbon fiber which is more expensive and and this one that's metal which is intended to get painted. I think the pics of the yellow car is causing more confusion then clarity. I think CF around the vents look flush enough that you wouldn't see if if you painted it but I'll ask about it.

they look the same to me. painted and unpainted. and can somebody please tell me what that yellow car is? doesnt look like a 204.
you prep before you paint. meaning, paint putty, sanding, then more sanding to even things out before you even spray with a primer. it will all even out depending on your painter.
Bought the hood. Got delivered to the shop. Went over there to see it today. Getting installed next week while I'm away. Will have the car back next Saturday when I get back. More pics to come then.
Thanks. Nope, the only thing that needed extra attention was the front holding the top part of the grill needed to be filed a little bit to fit. The fiberglass is slightly thicker than the old hood.
