auto shift to manual and back

auto shift to manual and back

I don't use the gear selector often in my E350, but when I do use the option to select the gear manually, I often want to change back to auto after the challenging part of the road has passed and can't seem to find a way to return to full auto without stopping, shifting to neutral and back to drive. There's got to be a way to do it on the fly, but i'm just not coming up with it.
Any suggestions?

You can keep shifting up until it goes into automatic.

keep shifting up through the gears after 6 it will go to D

On my E-Coupe there is an M button that toggles between Manual and Auto modes.

You can also press and hold the shift up paddle, after 3 sec. it'll go back to auto and the correct gear it needs to be.

2016 E400 Coupe Mars Red

With my 2016 E400 I can just wait for about 20 seconds and it returns to Auto, or I can press down on the shift stalk and it returns to auto right away.
