That's probably one of the nicest colors on a Merc! What is the official color name if you don't mind me asking?
My CLK is similarly colored.

Tint is not that dark just looks like it in the shot. Color is Steel Gray Metallic. Looks
gray some time and blue in different conditions. I really like it.

i thought you had a black car and the dark tint made sense to me. i went with 30% which was more middle of the road darkness and better matched my gray color as well.
funny, i need to look at my sticker to see what the name of my color is. i'm with you, sometimes the color seems to change. i've always referred to it as gunmetal gray but your comment as to blue/gray has piqued my curiosity!

I am originally from NY and that tint is very dark. You could pass inspection but you will at some point get pulled over by the police. Have the windows rolled down when you get the inspection, you should be fine.

No way in hell is that going to pass NY state inspection. Unfortunate for us we have silly laws against tinted windows. Have the windows rolled down when you do the inspection like griza said. Only thing I could tell you.
Car looks amazing by the way.

You may pass inspection as previously mentioned, but it is highly likely you will get stopped for the tint, unless it is darker in pictures. I have been stopped and summonsed for licence plate covers. Not tinted, clear plate covers as NYS considers them "an obstruction". How they obstruct anything is beyond me, unless if makes radar harder to read.

When I purchased my car there was insanely dark tint on the windows I removed because I knew I would be pulled over, and sitting in the car felt like I was in a coffin it was so dark.

You guys were right, tint failed miserably. Went in for rear tire change and
oil. Got Michelin Pilot Sports PS2 to try to get some traction for the new
OE tune. Will update soon on tune. Only drove twice with just small trips
around town. Feels good

Quick update on OE tune. Drove a few more times and the car seems to get faster every time. Still haven't really rung it out or got to the drag strip. Trouble on the street, you step on it and your going 80 in few seconds. Lots of fun. Dennis and Jeremy were great to deal with at OE.
