Opinions on potential purchase

So I'm deciding between purchasing a '14 E coupe with 20,000 miles for 37,000 or leasing a new Infiniti Q60 with a list price of 50,000.Monthly payments would be within a few dollars .Having a really tough time deciding, they have so many similarities yet so many differences .Any opinions would be appreciated
 Thanks

Do an extended test drive in both and choose the one that best meets your needs and wants best. Seriously you are the one that has to be happy with whatever you decide. Cars are a very subjective experience.

I will offer the fish instead of the fishing lesson. I have owned three Infinitis, all great cars. Paul is right, you need to simply drive them both. I suspect they will be entirely different in terms of driving dynamics. The Q60 will have more modern amenities, the E coupe (for me at least) will drive better. Drive them both and see what puts the biggest smile on your face.

Mercedes E550 Coupe
Infiniti's do not age well in my opinion. My 2010 E Coupe still fits in with many modern cars in terms of looks. Say compare it to a 2010 Infiniti G37 (essentially the new q60) and it looks aged.

Also, where I'm from many teenagers' drives Infiniti whereas Mercedes just hold more prestige and luxury.

If you're looking for the latest car tech and newest look I'd say go for the Infiniti but if you want to keep the car in the long run Mercedes will be my choice.

These two car are really apple and orange in terms of warranty and "newness". You are comparing a 3 year old car with a new car which comes with 4 year warranty. The MB only has one year warranty left. It would be expensive to maintain. If you are comparing both new cars, then the MB would be my choice. But in this case, I would take the Infiniti in a jiffy. My 0.02

2014 E550 Coupe and 2010 E350 Sedan
I may be biased, but I have a '14 coupe and it doesn't look aged a bit. The Q60 is also a great looking car. Having never driven the Q60, I can't compare them outside of just appearance.

For me, you said the MB is a purchase and the Infiniti is a lease. So by the time you pay off the MB (assume a 5 year loan), the current gen E coupe will be due for a facelift/change. The '14 might start to look a little dated, but you'll own the car. With the Q60, once the lease is up in 3 years, you HAVE to move into something else.

I'd go MB, but mainly b/c I've never leased before and I have one, so I know what it's like. The last Infiniti I drove was the original G35 coupe when it first released.

E coupe over infiniti

I'd agree with other post...MB is a buy and infiniti is a lease. I just bought an e550c and it feels timeless, solid, dare I say rich...smells like a fine European vehicle and the ttv8 is so strong like a train. Yes the chassis is not a super handling canyon carver but it's not that kinda car. Buy a MB coupe and bask in the luxury of the premium everything.

I'm on my 2nd new e coupe ('15 & now a '17)... truly a fantastic car which still looks very current.

The MB is a bit more mature, polished & I've had zero issue with either.

Additionally, I assisted a good friend with the purchase of a new '17 G60 coupe (white/red) about 6 months ago. While I think the technology and standard options are nice, the car just doesn't have the build quality and fit/finish of the e coupe nor the upscale impression to me.

Regardless both cars are very nice it just depends on your preference.

Vanilla or Rocky Road

If you go out for ice cream and order vanilla, get an Infiniti, if Rocky Road is more like it get the Mercedes. I have owned and driven many Japanese cars in my 68 years and never found one that had any soul. They are very reliable and have loads of technology but when it comes to driving experience they are pure vanilla . Give me a European car any day for a driving experience that makes me smile. Strictly my opinion.

what if I enjoy vanilla ice cream? Does that mean I can only buy a Japanese car? $62k for a Q60 400? No thanks. I’ll stick with my 18 E400 Coupe and 16 A6. I agree about the Japanese cars as I’ve owned a Lexus 92 ES 300, 98 GS, and 06 SC 430. Great build and reliability but boring to drive.

While I realize this thread is half a year old, I want to say this. Infiniti (Nissan) is the most German-like of the Japanese brands. At least, in the 90's. I've owned many, they are good cars. That said, I'm a MB guy and not looking back. It's another level, but as was posted months ago, is subjective.

~ I'm guessing he went with the Infiniti... for he has been on the forum since his initial 3 posts.
