Who has done upgraded disks/ pads on 550 cab?
I’ve been searching various websites and while companies like Stoptech have 350 cab disk/ pads they don’t seem to have 550 cab parts. Looking for fronts and rears. I’ve had enough of the OEM pulsing.

Brake performance front drilled rotors , lifetime warranty, centric posi-quiet ceramic pads front and rear. 4K miles since installation, braking is smooth, quiet and positive with the added plus of no dust.

They have them for your 2012 but not for the 2011. I think that’s the change year from naturally aspirated 5.5 liter to turbo’d 4.7 litre.

2014 550 coupe
Same question for my 2014 550 coupe with 25000 mi...lots of shaking going on. Turns out both front and rear rotors warped. Dealer uncooperative. Way too much confusion regarding which rotors and pads to use as replacements. Some sites delineate rotors specifically for the coupe vs. the sedan. Looking for the best replacement front rotors and pads also has anyone used drilled rotors on the back? Thanks

A link to my front rotor adventures, went a bit of a different direction than others have. Things are still working great, I've never had issues with the rears, so no experience on that front unfortunately.

Mozbenz, I am curious who diagnosed that your rear rotors are “warped”? I have been a backyard mechanic for over 50 years and done countless brake jobs and never have had rear rotors been the source of a pulsating brake pedal. If the stealer diagnosed it then it is simply a profit enhancer. With 25K I seriously doubt your rear rotors are bad. Most of the braking is done by the front brakes , the rears simply keep the car braking in a straight line and wear at about 1/2 the rate of the fronts. On my 2012 E 550 with 29K and a pulsating pedal I replaced the front rotors and pads and rear pads and all is well now . The only reason I replaced the rear pads was because I put Centric posi/quiet ceramic pads on the front and I wanted the same braking material front and rear.

Anyway I'm gonna replace all four with the ceramic pads maybe akebono pads and still undecided on the rotors would like drilled on the back as well just for looks. Any recommends?

looks like Tirerack has what I need, read below
StopTech does list the same rotors for the 2011 E550 convertible.
128.35115L STOPTECH DRILLED ROTOR EA. $108.45 Ea.
IXX (Rear)
IXX Drilled Vented Rotor
IXX Due to the OE vane design,
IXX Drill hole pattern is
IXX non-directional.
128.35120 STOPTECH DRILLED ROTOR EA. $84.00 Ea.
IXX (Front)
IXX Drilled Vented Rotor
So it appears all is well with the rotors. Regarding the pads, I would recommend the following
1 EUR1341 AKEBONO EURO CERAMIC PADS $72.00 Ea.
IXX Rear Brake Pads.
1 EUR1342 AKEBONO EURO CERAMIC PADS $98.00 Ea.
IXX Front brake pads.

IXX (Rear)

I’ve ran the akebono ceramic pads (near dust-free) on 3 different Mercedes I’ve owned over the years and this is the first change I make at time of new Benz purchase. Great pads, dust free and noise free. No regrets!
