USB Adapter in Cigarette Lighter Socket

I have one of these from my BMW:

Anyone know of any reason why it would not be safe to plug this into the cigarette lighter socket in the console of my Benz?

I will take a stab at it since you are getting some humorous replies. Both makes are 12V electrical system so I don't see any reason why you cannot use it. I suggest you go online to see anyone sells a universal, generic one and see their descriptions of the product. If their products can be used for all makes, then you know your Bimmer is OK to use.

It will work fine. However, you can buy them for little to nothing and not have the BMW logo marring your Mercedes interior.

My brother gave me one of those and saw the output is only 1.2A which is slow charging so I ditched it. I recommend this product.

Amazon Amazon

It's double 2.4A which charges devices much faster. Also, it's really low profile which allows my sliding drawer to close above it without needing to take it out.

Check out the nonda us charger. While a bit dear in price, it has two reversible USB ports and an app that links a cell phone that provides car location (distance/direction) as well battery monitoring. They are available at Amazon.

My car is a 2016 E400 coupe and the front console ashtray cover doesn't slide, it tilts up when you press it. With the BMW adapter inserted in the cigarette lighter socket, the tilting cover won't close; the face of the adapter that extends beyond the socket is just slightly too thick.
