2018 e400 rear bumper bumpettes removal?

Hi Guys - has anyone removed the rear bumps on either side of their e coupe? Would love to know if they ‘re just bolted on and can be removed and leave small bolt holes to be filled? Thanks!

don’t get rid of them. They saved my wife’s 18 E400 coupe when a woman hit her lightly from behind. Dented the bumperette but saved the main bumper.

Here is what it looks like from behind.

Thanks! Appreciate that feedback, was there a large hole on the actual bumper for them to cover or just holes for the fixing bracket things? I prefer the look of the back without them so may take my chances that I don’t have the same unfortunate incident your wife had

I did not see it with the bumperette off. You’ll have to look at the back of the picture to see how it connects to the main bumper. Looks like it snaps in on the sides and bottom as well bolted on top and bottom.

I swear I saw something about this some time back where, when the bumpettes were removed, the 'hole' revealed was something more than just small … believe it required some major fabrication/body work to cover to make it look more European in appearance. Have searched the forum but can't find it.

Here's a post that shows the gory details from the C-Class forum: US spec rear bumper

thanks for the sanity check … exactly what (I thought) I was looking for and had seen before. as my interests in the C-coupe have transitioned to the E-coupe, I completely forgot to search that forum

Does the Eclass bumper have the holes like the C class when you remove the bumpettes?
