Back to the E Coupes....

Never been a fan of a red car with the exception of Ferrari’s. This red E Coupe is actually very cool [we can do without the windshield decal]. The silver painted V wheels really pop against the red paint work. You can really see the sleek lines of this E Coupe with the red paint and the drop.

The black one below has wheels styled as you would typically see on a Porsche 911. They gives this E Coupe a pretty good looking aggressive look.

Yeah Like you not a fan of red on many cars. but the coupe looks good. I like them wheels too.

When buying I saw this. it was overpriced but great colour. never seen it again on a e-class cab.

Nice exterior colour, but the black trim on tan seats for the interior have never looked right to me, especially around the back seats.

Admittedly, it does look almost as large as the modern-day grille stars, yet somehow it doesn't feel nearly as bling-y or in-your-face. Perhaps it's because the new ones are mounted on that thick black plastic cup, which pushes them out.

Beautiful paint color; is it olivine gray (that's the color I was looking for but never could find)?

Some weekend diversion...

I grew up surfing in Southern California. One of the better point breaks is Rincon, which is about an hour’s drive above Malibu. This is a good size day at Rincon and just perfect. The advent of drone photography has totally changed the actual view of surfing from a photography aspect. You’re now out there with the surfers and can see the 3 dimensionally view of wave riding. With the drone, you can see the total landscape and all of the movement going on. It’s pretty amazing from this aspect.

Very cool. I need to get a drone. It will do wonders for my climbing videos.

Here we go. Trim removed. Chrome and Grill blacked out. just need to get the wheels done.

Needs a small lowering too. can't work out what I can and can't do with the dynamic sports pack on the car.

Nice, how easy is it to lift the trim off the roof cover panel? Been thinking of doing something different with mine.

Assume the trim on the door and below rear windows comes off OK as well? Or did you do some in place?

mall done in place. I looked at the trim removal and the rear you need to remove the under trim. It’s quite a bit of work to do. But is possible.

Buy the right tools and it can all be tucked and trimmed in place.

the doors you can lift up a bit easy enough with a plastic lever to tuck under easier

the A pillar use a true straight edge but if vinyl and run it .5mm over the rubber and it just tucks under the underside the rubber moves easily.

The roof clips in the rear were ther were their hardest and again removal would have been the same as the rear trim. But a bit of patience. It’s done in place fine.

Use quality vinyl it’s easy to work with.

Here’s a photo of your wheels when new. I actually like these wheels. There also a six spoke pattern, which is highly unusual for Mercedes.

Post some options as to what your thinking as to something else.

Keeping these wheels. I like them. If they had not been curbed so badly by the previous owner I would have blacked them and diamond cut the wheels.

But instead just satin black to give this look.

That didn't take long. Looks great !!!

Tell me about the convertible roof. How well has it held up in the weather and over time? Is there much wind noise when its up?

The last shot with the black wheels is a photoshop. the wheels are being done in September.

The roof is fine. no issues with leaks. not really noisy at all. no more than any other car. the roof has a lot in it so its quite sound deadening. down the AIRCAP make a big difference and means its usable even in low heat. I reckon even in 10-12 degrees it could be used if you so desired.
