Mercedes Models NTG4.5 V18.0 COMAND® 2018 Navigation Update
Question for the group.
I predominately use Google maps on my phone for navigation on my '13 Cabrio, are there are other changes I would notice in the upgrade, such as interface etc?

My 2013 E350 Coupe had the original V12 Navigation database from 2012. When purchased as a CPO from Mercedes in 2015, the navigation database was not updated.
After much research, I purchased a NTG4.5 V18.0 COMAND® 2018 Navigation Update on ebay Cost with shipping from Canada was $155.
This upgrade also contains 6 years of updates to the GraceNote Media Database This update is significant if you use CDs in your E350 Cabrio.
There were no changes to the COMAND interface

COMAND NTG 4.5 Update
In addition to the software upgrade, you also need a license code based on your VIN#. When I purchased the software to update NTG 4.5 V18.0 on ebay , the seller asked for my VIN# so he could provide a valid license code to complete the update process.
The update to ~75 minutes and worked without a problem. Total cost was $155; 50% less than the dealership.

Hmm I think I have a NTG 4.7 in my 2014 Coupe. I'll have to check if I have the USB inputs, if so, I'll definitely update, I'm using the original firmware. Does the map update also update the Firmware?

COMMAND Firmware Update
My 2013 E350 Coupe has USB inputs in the console storage box; I would expect your 2014 E350 Coupe to have them as well.

What version do I have
Hi, I have recently bought a 2010 E Class Coupe E350. The car only has a radio, CD and Bluetooth for phone, no Sat Nav. Does my car have NTG4.5? thanks.
I work on an oil rig at the moment and can't check vin or any car details.

Just found this post and link on another MB Forum, mbnavupdate.com Has anyone had any dealings with them. A few years ago I dealt with an individual that supplied nav updates for BMW. I purchased, received files, also access code, updated perfect. They should all take a cue from VOLVO. I've updated my XC60 twice already from a file download off there web site, inserted in USB and just drove, update stops and continues as you drive your daily routine, takes about an hour.

Like Eddot, I have never had any problem buying map updates on line for my BMW. My E400 is a 2017 so I'm still getting updates from the dealer at no charge. I did note that on the website listed above the prices are about 10X more than I ever paid for BMW map updates which I installed twice every year.

I purchased from them and didn't receive the product. I went on their chat service too many times to count and they kept saying it was sent. Over three months passed before they decided to send a replacement. They do not follow up with the customer, they expect the customer to keep following up with them. A replacement product finally arrived and then they would not provide the access code after repeated attempts asking for it. The last straw was when they said they were "updating their system" and I should check back in a few days. WORTHLESS!!! Waste of many months of time and wasted time following up on empty commitments from them. WARNING: They are based in Canada.
