Thumbs up That is a great visual improvement for your car

Are you happy with the results?

FYI: According to my the body shop, the grill is NOT an easy install. I am glad I had them do the installation. Which grill are you considering?

BTW: Does you car have the "easy exit" option for the steering wheel? If yes, please review the post before yours on why you might want to consider turing the option off.

yeah I really like the results, small touch but looks a lot nicer now. And the grille yeah I’ll probably do that at a shop, I’ll watch some YouTube vids first to see if I think I can do it myself or not. So far I’ve only seen the grille you showed, it’s starting to grow on me but I’ll see what other options there are.

how do I know if I have that option or not?

I plugged in my Vin into that site and I don't see anything about a "easy entry/exit feature" so I guess I don't have it?

I just checked the VIN decode page for my car and this feature is not listed for my car either.

The best way to check for the "easy entry/exit feature" is to follow these instructions:

Performance wise you should consider getting an ECU tune! It'll free up some extra ponies that you could mess around with lol.

I will order the grille. I am going to hold out for a bit though because I have a feeling ebay will hold a promotional sale soon because of the holidays and I will order it then.

After the grille, I think I am basically done with exterior mods (that is, until I decide to go all black and chrome delete)

Are there any interior mods/cosmetic changes any of you guys have done?

I will do the tune as well, but want to get all the cosmetic stuff done first.

eBay had a 15% off code a couple days ago and I ended up purchasing the grille. Will post pics when it comes in and after installation.

The black and chrome or the all-black version?

Tire pressure sensor missing

Do you happen to know anything about this? It has been coming and going for the past few weeks. Any solutions?

Lightbulb Missing TPMS on one wheel

Yes. The Good news: Overall your cars TPMS is working OK. The Bad news: It appears that the battery may be weak in the F/R TPMS unit.

All TPMS units connect via RFID and sometimes they do loose connections. There are tiny batteries in each TPMS unit that have a normal life between 7 and 8 years. Remember, batteries loose overall power in cold weather. However, most tire shops just replace the TPMS units to resolve the battery problem.

This happened to me with brand new TPMS units. On my car it happened once (so far) but later came back on its own after driving for about two hours. Annoying and frustrating.

I replaced my TPMS units with genuine MB TPMS units from this ebay vendor when I installed new wheels and tires.

Setting up the new TPMS units on a Mercedes is a bit complicated. Read this MBWorld thread , especially post #8.

BTW: You should only use a plastic air valve cap on a TPMS unit. Metal air valve caps may fuse to the TPMS valve.

I hope this helps you out.

The grille came in today and I tried changing it by following some youtube videos. It seems to be a lot harder than the videos lol. The grille itself is latched on by clips and in the videos it shows the person applying some forceful taps to unclip the grille. I tried imitating that and even after using a lot of force it's not coming out, maybe the technique im using is wrong im not sure. I will try again in the morning.

I had my body shop do the grille swap. The owner and his son together have 65+ years of experience working on car. They said that swapping the grille was quite difficult and was a two-person job.

That comment motivated me to back out and try again tonight lol. I was able to do it finally after countless tries of tugging, pulling, pushing, etc. I figured it out and removed the old grille. Although I did break off a clip or two but oh well I'm not too upset about that. I also broke a clip or two in the installation process of the new grille lol they're pretty flimsy but I was able to click in all the others in place. No gaps or anything. Definitely gives the car a better look, thank you for all your input. Now I don't know what else to do lol, I think I am done for a while. Maybe lights? not sure yet.

So these are the updated pics of my car after doing all the changes in this thread. Changed center wheel caps, went darker on the tints (35% all around now), black side marker light, and SLS grille. I liked the way everything turned out

Anything else I should do?

Question TPMS Sensors

Did you replace or reuse the TPMS sensors for each wheel?

I replaced because one was dead anyway so figured might as well replace all. But the car is not recognizing them, I will take it to a local shop and see what the deal is. My guess is the original shop put in faulty ones or not the right brand.

Lightbulb Solution to the TPMS Problem

I had a similar problem with new TPMS sensor for new wheels. I did some research and I found this solution on MBWorld. The following worked for me.

I had the Tire Shop connect their OBD machine to the car's OBD port.

- deflated each tire & recorded each TPMS electronic ID #
- inflated the tires, and downloaded their ID # to the vehicle computer
- reset the TPMS - relearn function.
- drove for 10 miles and the TPMS reset.
