I saw a bunch of threads and YouTube videos showing how to swap out the hood ornament but the bottom of my hood has a cover, and I don't see the spring release that makes it an easy release. How do I change the hood ornament to this black one I ordered?

As far as I know they dont make the black emblem for our cars, it is necessary to modify it to fit. Pretty simple to do, just pull it off of the black mechanism, then cut and re-glue the post.

What did you use to cut the top post, and what did you use as the adhesive? Is it still holding up?
