I used Clear Gorilla Glue on my door panel that the wood trim was lifting on one of the ends. I had to buy one of those huge wood clamps, cheap at Harbor Freight, in order to keep it clamped while it dried. It has been 6 months since I did it and so far it has not come loose.
I used the same glue as posted in this thread. I had the exact same area coming up. I placed a bead in right inside and used a small paint brush and made sure coverage was on both sides etc. The glue took about 30 min so what I did to not hold the piece in place being lazy I carved a small wood piece to match the arch of the wood panel, placed a piece of non skid rubber on top and used a large vise clamp to clamp the piece.. Once all was dry I removed it and used alcohol to clean up an light residue of glue on the sides. Been 3 months and no issues..

Agreed.. However it may have just been a weak spot where they had limited glue coverage since its happening to many cars in the same spot. Way too late for me to say its under warranty.. LOL

my wife’s car (2011 E550 Cabriolet) is doing the exact same thing so I think it’s just a manufacturing flaw. It’s also started to do it on the dash trim as well...So not a good spot to put a clamp but may have to use the seat itself and an adjustable shower rod To hold the trim in place.
I used gorilla glue and the wood pieces peeled off a week later. Then I used gorilla glue double stick tape and four months later they’re still sticking together.
Mine was peeling when I bought the car, so I had the dealer add it to the IOU list. They tried to glue it and it snapped in two.
They ended up replacing the whole door seat control unit on their dime.
