Code P0128

Folks,
Getting a P0128 code for temp not reaching the range in time specified (2011 A207 E350). Know it may be either a thermostat or engine coolant temp sensor.
Anyone with any experience with this code and did a thermostat replacement fix the issue or should I just replace the temp sensor to see if that does the trick,

Funny thing is I got this code last year at the same time when outdoor temps are a little cooler and reset it and never saw it until this year again...

Any insight or experience with this code would be helpful.

Folks, going to replace the thermostat housing but might just as well replace the temp sensor while I ma at it.
Anyone have a diagram where I can locate the coolant temp sensor 2011 A207?

All,
I did replace the thermostat housing and was fairly easy and all done with cleanup within 2 hours... I reset the code and so far has not come back..

Cheers Mike

Kev,
I replaced the part with this:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...ostat-4834100d
Its the Wahler housing and it came with the housing..

Well in summary:
Removed the antifreeze cap. COLD CAR
Took the blower motor off.
Removed the serpentine with a 17M wrench just slightly counter clockwise of the tensioner bolt and removed the serpentine
Removed the top pulley that blocked the bottom bolt of the housing.
Removed the hose from the housing and quickly placed the hose into a narrow bucket I placed below. I only lost about 3/4 of a gallon of antifreeze.
I removed the bolts to the therm housing and just lightly tapped it with a rubber hammer and it came off.
One thing I did was used was some alcohol to remove every bit of the old gasket.
Replaced everything in reverse.
Filled antifreeze back up etc.
I had no leaks and one thing I did do is run water over all serpentine pulleys to wash any antifreeze that dripped on them before placing serpentine back on. I used my compressor to blow the pulleys dry... I know a bit over the edge but that antifreeze can eat at anything especially if left on a belt...

I used the guidelines from this VID and added my own elements along the way. I removed my blower motor first however.. You can do it as you see fit. Enjoyed doing it. Only about 2 hours total with cleanup etc.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Mike. Very helpful. Will probably look to do this spring as it gets warmer.
