Caliper Options

What are my front caliper upgrade options for the 2011 E550, I have rear C63s.... I did see recently someone swapped on news front calipers from a more recent W212 E550 sedan, does the same work for the E550 would like to move to a 4 piston up front....

Thanks

What did you pay for the rear AMGs? Yes you could swap the new 550s front for cheaper. It’s actually the same size and piece rotor of the c63 non performance package. But the c63 has better calipers/pads.

i was thinking about getting some c63 calipers for the rears too since it’s bolt on no bracket needed. But for 700, I’d rather just update the stock system to centric/posiquiets

that’s super cheap. Can you feel a huge difference in braking?

you have to get a special bracket for them. Cost like $450. Did the set come with a good pair of rotors?

Looks like a super tight fit under those rims. All in all worth the expense and effort?

The bracket was someone selling off a pair that they apparently didnt use, I used Centric C63 rotors with coating to prohibit rusting as I live in midwest, Pads were StopTech pads. As far as whether its worth it, Ive owed this 2011 since 2012 and its been a great car. I plan on keeping it for awhile, the old rotors were shot, and calipers were poor on braking...its tuned and I now have front and back C63 setup. Alittle upgrade motivates me to keep it and honestly I would get another one so would just take these off and tranfer to the next......I had the rear calipers already.. paid $800 shipped for fronts..did all the work myself and upgraded to stainless caliper lines.....

I have the 2013 550 so the brakes were already upgraded from factory by then. In fact the 2013 550 and c63 non PP uses the exact same rotors. I changed pads to posi quiet and added ss lines on the front myself. Brakes much better now. If I could find rear c63 calipers for 400 or less I would do it since the c63 is 20mm or 30mm bigger. But as far as the fronts I do t wanna pay 1400 for caliper and bracket so I’ll just keep it the way it is. Upgrading the pads and adding ss lines made a big improvement already.

What brand ss lines did you choose? Goodridge?
